Hey all, I bought these XD Monsters about 8 months ago. I absolutely can't keep them clean. They are flat black but I'm not exactly sure if they have a clear coat. I have tried several different wheel cleaners including IronX and currently WG Uber wheel cleaner. I have also used Poor Boys wheel wax and that hasn't helped. I even changed my break pads to try to reduce the dust. The barrel seems to have a very fine texture to it which may be part of the problem. Any suggestions? The pics probably aren't very good!! Thanks

This is right after I washed using Uber and 2 mothers brushes!!

You could try some diluted Megs WB or wheel acid when I would put a coating on them.

Try a cleaner wax and if that doesn't work try polishing them. Have you kept them sealed with wax/sealant?

I wouldn't polish them. They are a matte finish, polishing them will gloss the areas

I have cleaned those wheel numerous times and Megs Wheel Brightener FTW!

Cannot get them clean...or keep them clean?

Warranty All XD Monster wheels come with a lifetime structural build, and 1 year finish warranty. Warranty is honered by the manufacturer but must be submited by the distributor that the wheels were purchased from. Structural warranty does not cover damage done to the wheel by user including curb rash and pot holes. Finish warranty is only honered if the wheels have been cleaned with XD approved cleaners.

The BEST thing you can do is take them off, clean them up, and put Opti-Coat on them !!!

OC makes cleaning wheels so much easier. I can wash mine with regular left over car wash soap from my regular wash. And I am working with the great VW dust pads....

It would be a good idea.
Check with your distributor before violating your soon to expire warranty.

Here is where I got the info...may not be the right site as they spell Monster with two O's within the site.

XD Monster

I wish I would have used opti-coat right when I bought them!!! I never new they would be this hard to clean though!!

I think I will do that!! Thanks Vegas!

I've always wondered about Meg's Wheel Brightener... every single time I make a new order, I want to buy it - but then get scared. Is Wheel Brightener something I can use, but just have to make SURE it doesn't dwell on the surface for more than a certain amount of time? Some clients' cars are just NIGHTMARES, and after spending so much time on the wheels, when they aren't perfect, I've lost time/efficiency/and the "Wow Factor" when clients inspect the wheels. I've tried TRIX, Sonax Full Effect, Griots (which is the worst I've ever tried, barely turns pink and doesn't clean the inner lip), and the results have been somewhat mixed.

Thanks so much, not trying to derail the thread about the XD Wheels, just trying to expand the convo and follow up on Wheel Brightener! :)
