can these headlights be saved?

The DP kit will eat these for lunch. No sweat. Just restored my lights with them - among the best product I've ever used.

This is with Ultimate Polish and DA about 5 minutes looks clearer than the pictures show but still nowhere near clear. Thinking about getting either Turtle Wax headlight restorer or Ultimate Compund

Like any polishing, you have to start with an approach aggressive enough to remove the defects, then you need to step down through less aggressive methods to remove any artifacts from the defect-removal step.

It's really hard to tell where you are from the pictures. When fixing headlights you need to remove the hazing from the lens; sometimes this can be done with compounding, or sometimes it will require sanding. If your technique is sound and polishing isn't clearing them up, then I'll venture that what we are seeing in the pictures is hazing that hasn't been removed, and you need to go more aggressive.

Of course, not every headlight is created equal. Like any correction, you need to have your basics down, as far as your polishing technique, and progressive use of chemicals and media.

I need to find and buy the best and cheapest product I can buy the same day they only gave me $10 to buy something and want it like yesterday lol

So I'm supposed to pay more money for the product basically twice what I'd pay for one of the two products I mentioned plus keep there car longer when they already want it now?

Um...huh?

Do you have a body shop supply store near you? Go buy 1 sheet of 1000 grit, one sheet of 3000 grit, and one sheet of 4000 or 5000 if they have it (and if they will sell you single sheets). Then sand the headlights with that, and follow with your Ultimate Polish.

I'll wet sand the lenses right? With just plain water or soapy solution?

Im done after this post. Im not so sure that wetsanding those being such a noob at it would be a good idea. You are in a hurry.

I suggest give the car back (you did your $10 worth of work to them and thats what he gets) if they want to wait for another week and maybe give you another $10 to bring the car back to you, then order the DP kit and do the headlights using the least aggressive method first. If you spend $25 on the kit and use it on his lights its not gone. You will get more than 10 sets of headlights out of the DP kit and make a profit from its purchase, so you have to eat the cost of this one and have a product to do other cars with out of it.

Do what you want and deal with your consequences.

Not trying to be rude or anything but wet sanding isn't rocket science or anything can't be that difficult to do just be careful not to go to far and stay in one area too long then polish out the sanding marks. I'm not making money off this plus pay the money for the product y'all keep mentioning then pay shipping and handling then wait a week or so to get it.

I hear you but what is the risk? We are going around in circles with the other methods, and there is plenty of headlight material to sand, it's not like BC/CC.

Yes wetsand with just a little soap in the water. Just make sure you spend enough time with the finer grits to remove the hazing from the coarse sanding.

Although to step back a little to dcjredline's post, if you are not experienced enough to accomplish this, maybe it's time to stop with the modest correction you have made and tell the customer that's the best you could do at this time.

Can't be that difficult to do plus how else am I supposed to learn and gain experience without trying? I'm not stupid by a long shot I think I can do it

Yeah, ok, it's just as dcjredline noted, you're in an awful hurry and a shoestring budget, which doesn't always add up to the best outcome.

Sect: only reason not to is "least aggressive method first". Godfearingman...go for it. I never said you were stupid or incapable of learning. I wouldn't want to use anothers car to try something new out on. But go right ahead. You may get it the first time just fine.

oh yeah, easy fix!

looks like you don't even need to wet sand it.

DP headlight AIO polish should work easily.
