An interesting and unique car was added to the Riviera stable a few months ago. After enjoying it for the last little bit of summer, a full detail and coating installation has just been completed.

Decon wash, iron remover, clay, two step polish, and two coats SiO2 coating were used. For those interested in what products were involved, here’s a brief list:

Meguiars Super Degreaser (wheel wells)
P&S Brake Buster (wheels & tires)
McKees 37 Coating Prep Wash
Griots Iron & Fallout Remover
Nanoskin Fine Clay Mitt
Griots Speed Shine (clay lube)
Flex 3401/LC Force Orange Pads/Sonax EX-04 06
LC Force Black Pads/CarPro Essence
Art de Shine Ayicon coating (paint & trim)
Polish Angel Supersport wheel coating
Fireball Satin tire coating
Polish Angel Diver glass protectant

Okay, now you must be the first to CORRECTLY identify just exactly what this vehicle is

It looks like a 2019 Lincoln Continental with coach doors. I call them suicide doors.

UncleDavy FTW. This is actually a 2020, as Lincoln decided to build 150 more after selling out the original 80 2019’s in 48 hours after they were introduced. 20 went overseas, leaving 130 here in the U.S.

Technically, it is a “2020 Lincoln Continental Black Label - Coach Door Edition.”

Beautiful car! Never new the made this! With the low numbers it might end up a collectors item.

Only problem I see is there is no 60’s counterpart sitting next to it….

Very cool! I like the body style of these new Lincoln Continentals and love the 'Suicide" coach doors. Great addition to the stable.

Well done! I didn't realize that so few were going to be produced.

Bad ass! I also didn’t know about the low number. I’ve seen a few locally.

Those can be pretty damn quick with the right engine combo.

Not bad. Mid 13s at around 104-105mph. Needs a tune to wake it up. I came close to buying either the MKZ or Continental with the 3.0t but the 6spd is it's weak point and holds it back.

I really really nice cruiser though and a good value on the used market.

Definitely disagree with this statement.

The 6 speed transmission is smooth as butter and works quite well with the twin turbo. It’s a luxury car after all (and quite possibly the finest American luxury car ever built), and the engineering goal was to provide a luxurious ride with more than adequate power. The Continental delivers this in spades.

I drive a Cadillac CT6 with a 3.0TT 8 spd as my daily. The Continental beats the Caddy in every way with the exception of handling. The Continental is definitely more “floaty” like a true luxury ride should be. The transmission is much smoother in the Continental.

If quarter mile speeds and go fast is what you desire, this is not a car for you. If you want an American built luxury sedan, this car is without question (in my mind anyway ) the top dog.

Ya...mid 13's not bad.....lol...I hope you are joking it's a Lincoln Continental.....my Dad's 1978 ran 19 flat

Smooth while it lasts, but it is a weak point. Owners have been getting a warranty extension on the transmissions as there's both a torque converter fix and a reprogramming of the Powertrain Control Module needed to fix issues. My 2010 Fusion Sport with the 3.7 failed at 47k. The transmission was one of the main reasons we didn't buy my wife's Lincoln. The 10spd thus far has been good and honestly would allow for it to keep the car in it's powerband better.

Agree. Again, a great value.

Interesting, and good to know. Will have to consider that. It will likely be many many years before this car sees 47K miles however .

I have admired Ford's approach to Lincoln over the last few years. In some ways, it has been the "cheap" approach by not investing in bespoke platforms like GM did with Cadillac or even Hyundai with Genesis. However, I respect the fact Ford didn't peruse making a range of BMW clones with Lincoln and instead played to their strengths and created luxury cars that pamper the driver. This is probably a controversial statement, but how many BMW drivers actually take advantage of the cars ingrained "sportiness"? I would argue most buyers in luxury segment are going to appreciate a quiet cabin, smooth ride and attention to detail rather than firm body control, responsive steering and RWD dynamics. (I'm painting with a broad brush here.)
