Car DECISIONS!!! HELP!!!

Notice how I did NOT have a Lotus in that list, Rob... since I do have good taste.

HAHA... kidding.

Hey, you still liking your Fuzion? Did I tell you used your 915... it actually wasn't bad, esp since I will gaining a sheet of armor for winter. I put it on my Civic daily driver... she's ready for the winter. It applied rather hard, but removed easier than I thought. Had a good look to it too...

:D

Glad you like the Colly 915. I have always thought that it was very under rated in the looks department. Combine that with great long lasting protection and you have a real nice product. I just found it to attract dust a bit more than I like.

I'm LOVING the Fuzion! I've still got to get around to posting my review.

As far as your comment on waiting and saving for the car of my dreams... I hate to break it to ya, but for me, I will NEVER afford the car of my dreams. For that matter, it's carS (plural) of my dreams. A Ferrari, a Porsche 911 GT2RS, a Lambo Murcielago, Audi R8, I could go on.

It's certainly not close to a GTR2 RS, but have you considered a used Porsche Carrera?

You can get a 2004 or even a 2005 for the mid 30's.

And they *do* have back seats. :)

keep your ride, its likely paid off and youve kept it serviced since new your way. Dumping money into a used car that could be someone elses nightmare , or a pony car that price will plummet quickly is not the best choice for your family.

Take any extra money and invest it in something conservative and do the wise thing or perhaps pre-pay your childrens education.

You raise a good point about the pony car taking a huge dump in value very quickly.

The alternative is to buy a well maintained used car since those have already taken the majority of the hit in depreciation.

Perhaps you guys haven't noticed, but Ford isn't the same company they used to be, its not like you would be driving one of the older Ford Taurus' off the lot.

Regardless, these cars drop in value very quickly. They always have, they always will. Same thing with the Dodge Charger and Challenger and the Chevy Camaro.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Thanks for the advice Scott... I hear ya about the new car value plummeting. But then again, that is true for any car you buy, except maybe for an exotic. Those cars become collectibles.

But alas, we only live once right? So I think I am allowed some satisfaction for all the hard work I do. As far as finances and my family, I've got that all squared away. Getting a car (new or used) will in no way compromise my family (or child's education, etc). I've got that all squared away. Like I mentioned before in an older post, no worries about the finances... I just have been given a budget (should I choose to indeed buy another car) to stay within 35 - 40k ;)

So we'll see... I still go back and forth. I might have to visit the dealerships again and drive them once more. I may just end up hanging on to the G at least till Spring...

Yeah I've been trying to find a good used car that's been well maintained. There's a few dealerships around here that I know I can trust. If the right car pops up with the proper records and history, perhaps that's the route I go. As far as the new Mustang, if I intend on keeping it for a while, then perhaps the depreciation is not as big a deal.

Hey, you don't have to convince me. I own an Exige S. :xyxthumbs:

first time i drove an exige s i was flat out astonished. only car i have driven that i enjoyed more is CLK DTM or SL65 Black.

Definitely agree. The longer you plan on keeping the car, the less the quick depreciation matters.

By the way Burton, I put up my review of Fuzion:

Thanks again for that trade! :props:

So, which way are you leaning at this point?

I actually talked to a couple of dealers today with Shelby GT500's... used, they are in the 35-40k range, convertible too... We'll see if they give me what I want for in trade.
