Car still looks great but then this happened....

That really stinks!!!

As a father of two girls I have got to find out how her daddy trained the cow to do that!!!

Seriously, sorry that happened!! Hopefully you can find a way to turn this into a positive, get the rest of you paint fixed, etc.
 
Unless I somehow get like $500-$600 sent to me for my birthday I don't see a way any time soon LOL
 
This reminds me of a co worker. We polished and waxed her car. The reelection was phenomenal. When she got home she parked her car in the driveway for the night. When she woke up the whole passenger side was dented. The dents were caused by a male goat... The goat saw the reflection in the car door and started to bang his head against it thinking it was another goat. I still remember her call with the insurance company of the goats owner. She was pissed. I said on the next car I do for her I would not make it so mirror like.

My father and I both know how u feel.

Dad was working on the brakes on his '65 Vette, went to back it back into the garage and it was in 1st instead of reverse, BAM, right into his truck. He and I built this car from the ground up over 15 years. It was in 5 boxes, and worked on the frame for 2 days before we could even tow it.

My experience? I had a 1972 Ranchero 500(Torino GT hood) with a 429 that I had just finished building. Had painted it a deep forest green metallic with carbon graphit strips. A week later I was at the track and this jerk decides to run into me because I am beating him. Screwed up the passenger door and rear quarter. I cried for a week.

I can't recall an incident of BBQ damaging a car.

The other choice was replacing the whole quarter panel but doing that would run me $3,000 which I'm sure the insurance wouldn't like that. Sorry but IMO that dent is not difficult to pull. Now if it was a paintless dent repair it would be a bigger challenge. Grind to metal weld pull rods and you should have very little bondo. Insurance companies are pretty wise to padding the estimate. Consider preping the hood and bumpers for the repair shop. Might provide you some great practice to see what it takes to remove clear base then primer. Working with paint is as fun as polishing it. See if the body shop will work with you.
 
Well the car goes into the shop on Tuesday for repairs. My buddy who works with Progressive knows a shop who is very good at what they do and they are going to fix it for the estimated price AND deduct $300 from my $500 deductible.

I got some more good news today, I spoke with the body shop and they are going to repaint my front and rear bumper as well! Nothing extra out of my pocket they will just add time to the quarter panel repair. My buddy who is good friends with the owner called the shop today to get an update and they told him that when they sanded down the front bumper they found out that the front bumper had been repaired before. Not just repainted, he said that it had been glued back together.
So the shop bought a new front bumper and are going to continue with the process. It should be done by tomorrow afternoon and I'll be picking it up Friday morning.
Should have some pictures tomorrow

That's cool.
Can't believe someone glued it. We knew it was repainted...the color was off...I guess all you have left to paint is the hood.

I am going to hold off on painting the hood because I am going to get a Cobra R hood anyways so I'll just wait it out.

Someone hit my volvo and broke the headlight, turnsignal, and cracked the bumper. I decided to hit the junkyard and get the replacement parts, got the paint matched and painted them myself. this is how it came out(sorry no before pics lol)

my point is that you dont always want to take the body shops word, most of the time(and in both of your cases it is repairable with a little tlc) they are upcharging for parts and labor. I repaired mine with only 1 semester of collision repair and 1 semester automotive painting and refinishing in college.

My best friend works for Progressive and sent me to this shop, he's friends with the owner. My best friend went to the shop almost everyday to make sure they were doing everything alright.
He saw the bumper himself, he said he could tell the bumper was stitched and welded back together.
