Car wash scratches on C6 Vet

I bought a C6 Z06 from a freind.
Apparently he ran it through a car wash (makes the hair on my neck stand up).
The finish looks good, but in certain light (especially flourecent ant night) you can see the finish is covered with small fine scratches.
I tried Meg 205 with a LC orange pad and finished with Chem Guys EZ glaze with a white pad. then Black Fire sealer and wax.
It seemed to do nothing. The only difference seems to be the bumper has really small DA pattern scratches now instead of the car wash scratches.
I have Meg 105, should I try that? Does anyone use the 105 by hand?
I have a Porter Cable and a Flex.
I hear the clear on the Vette is pretty hard, but I'm not sure if that's true.
Is the a better product that 105/205 to take these little scratches out?
Anyone have any history with the plastic bumper finish on a newer Vette?

remember Vettes have hard clear coat so go ahead and try the 105. and remember it may take more than 1 pass. another thing is before you finish the whole process you need to do a test spot to make sure you get the finish you want.

It is very true, I'm sure some Vette owners will pop in here and give you some good advice.
 
Yeah, I'd go straight to the M105 with the Flex and a cyan hydro tech pad.
 
Yup 105 is the way to go. If its too hard with an orange pad, maybe you'd want to order some Surbuf pads. I've seen a few posts on here where guys couldnt make a dent in a Vettes paint, but the Surbuf pad with 105 took it on down.

After that follow up with your 205 on a polishing pad and i bet you'll be sittin pretty.

As others said thou...do a test spot...get your process down so that way you dont end up goin over the whole car only to find out that you didn't get the results you want.

:props: to using the flex as well...i hope to get one someday soon :)

205 = zip. No difference that I could see.
105 = WOW. I followed with 205, but I don't know if it even made a difference. The 105 really did it.
I would have never guessed that I needed something that aggrssive to take out such small scartches.
This a geat site. Thanks for the help.

vettes have hard clear coat so even small scratches will take something aggressive. 105 will be your best friend as long as you own a vette
 
I'm gonna be doing my vette this weekend. I was plan on starting with my Flex 3401, WG TSR 3.0 with an LC white pad. From reading the post, I should skip the above and go with Surbuf 6.5' & M105?

You PROBABLY will end up doing that...but I do agree with trying to use the least agressive method possible first...sometimes you get lucky :)...and as always, try a test spot...tape off an area and try the TSR 3.0 with white...if it works, then do the rest of the car, if it doesnt, then you can either try the same product on an orange pad...or 105 on the white pad...or if your test spot shows very little improvement then maybe you'd want to jump to the 105 and orange pad (or surbuf pad).

Just a testing process...once you figure out what works...you'll be set to go:dblthumb2:

That's exactly what I was plan on doing. Are you a mind reader? LOL....:buffing:
 
I much prefer Menzerna as a finishing polish versus 205 on my Vette personally. That said you often need to start with something more abrasive like 105 or Menzerna SIP or Wolfgang TSR then come back for finishing.
 
After the 205 go over the paint with Menzerna 85rd and you will really see the depth, wetness and clarity of the paint. That is if all the defects are removed first.
