CarPro Essence Plus Review Over Opti-Coat Pro+

It's essentially filling in the swirls in the coating with a ceramic compound similar to essence but it is a pure non-abrasive filler so it'll fill in and add a thin layer of extremely hydrophobic "coating" to it. It's a great product, and technically can be used stand alone instead of a coating repair. I imagine this as a LSP would work quite well for someone who doesn't quite want to go full on coating yet.

I'm delighted to see you used this with an Optimum product. I can guarantee that they would insist that it's NOT compatible, but you proved otherwise. Just like I have proven countless times that Essence works great under Gloss Coat. Nice work. I'm looking forward to using it on my Lincoln in the Spring!

I'm still confused... it "repairs" the coating. So, is it filling or correcting the swirls in the coating?

It states right on that flyer that is non-abrasive. Non-abrasive = no correcting.

Avi, other than being substantially less expensive, how does this compare (if you know) to Kamikaze Artificial Clear Coat? Just getting an idea here. No a priori opinions.
Hi , im not too much familiar with there product from the videos i saw its very watery , in my experience any water base product doesnt last chemicals /solvents/ alcohols. and not sure can get thickness by itself. any average swirls has a deepness of about 3 microns, unless you not polishing them off you need a coating which make such thickness to fill and coat it. beside that as you said we dont like to steal customers money.

How do you know you're repairing the coating? Is there a certain time period to use this product on a coated vehicle? How are you gonna know you're repairing the actual coating itself and not the clear coat? How do you know if the coating is still behind? Sorry for my ignorance or if this is entirely a different subject in itself.

Once you see the surface loosing the hydrophobic effect and loose in gloss the coat start to fade , we call it 'Repair" while what it does its thick durable coat on top , ES+ use mixture of very durable acrylic resins ( very similar to what used in the latest car clearcoats ) and silica to get the hydrophobic characters

Interesting, I thought I read that it does have light correcting abilities. So, all Essence + is a glaze for coatings?
No abrasives in it, the only Polishing you would produce will come from the pad you use it with , thats why we say to use the softest finishing pads ( as our Gloss pads) glaze is organic oil , like heavy diluted wax , doesnt last 2 car washes, the PLUS is much more durable as you saw in this review

I'm still confused... it "repairs" the coating. So, is it filling or correcting the swirls in the coating?
Its filler coat , very very low correction made from the pad abrasive
