I have this product coming to me via AutoGeek (thank you everyone there) and I have a few questions that you may or may not be able to answer.

First off the ratio in foam cannon. Now I don't have a foam cannon but what I do have is a soap dispenser for my Worx hydroshot, think of it as a "poorman's foam cannon". The advised ratio is 1:9 and just to make sure, that's 1 part Hydrofoam and 9 parts water, correct? I ask because not having a foam cannon maybe the ratio is backwards from what I'm accustom to seeing, usually the higher number is first which means water and then the 2nd number is product, just wanna clear the air there. I plan on using distilled water in the dispenser because I know I'm not going to use the entire contents of the soap dispenser and I don't want it to break anything down over time.

Next is temp, how warm do you think it needs to be? Having access to the underground garage allows me to wash my cars when its cold outside but as with any protection the 60 degree rule may or may not be in effect, I wanna use the product but I don't wanna waste it because its only 45 degrees down there. I do have access to my buddy's vinyl shop where its always warmer than 60 degrees, so either way, I'm going to be able to do it in warmth if its completely necessary.

Finally for those who've used it over time, how's the durability?
 
I’ve been using this stuff since it came out & have gone through several bottles of it. I mainly use it in a spray bottle with a foaming trigger 1:9 to clean wheels. Leaves behind pretty strong protection. Clean & coat yr wheels in 1 step is a no brainer for me.

I’ve used it on paint once or twice - it will streak if you are in any kind of sun & don’t immediately rinse it off. Also, will spot glass as well.

Due to its tendency to streak in all but perfect conditions, I wouldn’t use it with a foam cannon due to the large area it covers. I’d prefer to use it on a single panel at a time with a sprayer. It’s great for wheels, but too fussy to use on whole car if you are picky like me

Anyway, it’s good stuff for what it is. Very hydrophobic.
 
Swan, in your expert opinion, if always washed inside our parking garage with no chance of sun getting onto the car...ever, would it be ok to use say once a month as say a "booster" for a coated car?

I much preferred "normal" HydrO2 to the HydroFoam.... recently found my original bottle of Hydrofoam in the back of my supplies storage and just tossed it out. It worked well, but it was a little finicky to use in the manner that is described unless you're in perfect conditions (as stated above). I still only use HydrO2 on wheels for the same reasons. It is just easier for me to wipe a car down with a spray sealant after washing.

Yeah, I think it would be great. If yr using it monthly - could be a stand alone LSP - it’s pretty potent stuff
 
Have to agree with Zach. I used HydroFoam a few times, but I found that I have to move very quickly to get it all off without streaking, and the benefit it provided was negligible in addition to all the other coating material I was lacing on the cars.

I still use foam cannons, but it's with plain soaps that have no glossifiers or silica in them.

I know this much for sure, I'm not using this stuff down in the garage till spring but will try it out at Xtreme Graffics as I have a detail coming up and will use this as a LSP

I also have Hyrdro2 Lite coming as well and the same holds true for that, gotta be warmer down in the garage or when I go to my buddy's shop. I did use McKee's Hydro Blue Sio2 on my wheels a couple weeks ago and was very impressed by it, so I expect this Hydro2 Lite and Wet Coat to at least equal it and my beta testing product coming in January will have a couple products to be compared to.

I think you'll like Hydro2 Lite. Just as good as Wet Coat and Hydro Blue.

The angel on my shoulder is telling me to just use this stuff instead if recoating my car in the spring but the devil is saying to strip the troublesome WGU ceramic paint coating and start anew. I believe the devil will win out here

No, actually the Devil’s supposed to lead you towards the lazy way, while the Angel wants you to work harder and do things the right way. Lol.
 
Something to consider, Roger. If your car has high spots from the WG application, then it's protected. The Hydro2 Lite will extend that protection, but it won't make it look any better.

So, if you want the car to look better and lose the high spots, I'd polish, recoat and then use Hydro2 Lite to maintain.

Of course, you can use the silica sprays to maintain until you recoat....

Your right!

I feel the coating itself, buried underneath the Sio2-based toppers I've applied, is still doing it's job but those random high spots that rear its head make me wanna start the process anew

I will use on wheels and will not use on glass but since I don't have a foam cannon per say what do you guys think about using it mixed at 1:9 in a regular 1000 ml Kwazzer to apply it?

I wanted to use it in my Worx hydroshot but it would be almost impossible to keep it off of glass, much more control in the normal Kwazzer.

Sorry if this sounds silly but do you wash the car with your regular soap first, something regular Bathe and then go over the car again with this, the directions kinda confuse me a bit, thanks!
 
Roger, you can use it as a standalone wash. You foam up a section and then wash with a mitt. I do this in sections. This is unlike other foaming products, since there is a concern for streaking if it dwells too long.

Here's what I was going to do originally:

-1:9 ratio in my soap dispenser and foam the entire car, this way things begin to break down.

-place my wash mit on top of the car and spray some mix on it and begin to wash.

-dunk my wash mit into the rinse bucket and move along the car, spraying more foam along the way if need be.

-Once done, foam the entire car again and THEN rinse off and dry.

Btw, my CarPro Hydro2 Lite wash was 1/2 frozen, do you guys think it'll be ok?

I use HydroFoam a lot with 2 of our cars but don’t recommend using it in a foam gun/canon. You don’t want get it on everything especially the windows. I fill my wash bucket with about 4 gallons and add 3oz of HydroFoam. Wash a panel at a time and try avoid getting on windows.
 
Anyone else have an issue with rusty rotors with hydro Foam?
