Looks like they just dropped a new version of their torq polisher, but this one has a 21mm throw and 900 watt motor....pricing is set at $300 ....wonder how it'd compare to a rupes

Damn, everyone is coming out with these. I'd take the BOSS over this one any day.

Yea it seems like these torq polishers aren't really liked around here, or many of there other products for that matter....I do agree that a lot of their stuff is gimmicky and over hyped.

here's an example why I do not care for the electronic speed switch they use on their torq polishers...

Ouch that sucks!!!!....looks like they replaced it though, but still a bad situation to be in....that's why I'm looking to get a GG6 within the next month nso I don't have to worry about anything like that....lifetime warranty for the win :)

Suprised nobody has tried to copy the flex? i'd only go with the boss or a flex now

It makes no sense that no one copies the flex. Maybe there are patents that they have. A forced rotation long throw or medium throw (12mm) would be incredible.

my Boss will be here Thursday, hope it's as good as everything I've heard.

That's interesting. I wonder how the quality and performance will be compared to the Rupes and BOSS.

Well according to this thread Rupes was the first company to introduce a forced rotation polisher to the market ... So technically you could say Flex is copying Rupes :buffing:

Agreed as per that thread. But why didn't Rupes patent the design as well as patent the long throw design. It seems like these technologies are expensive to develop and require significant investment in r&d and here comes the Boss with the same technology. Steve Jobs sued Google over this exact issue - copying a look and feel iOS - and won some monies I believe but it still didn't stop android from developing its own ecosystem. Maybe the patent litigation isn't worth it?

The head looks like the same as the Zentool. Probably what it is, I believe the Zentool is also a 900 watt motor.

Honestly, Chemical Guys is the only detailing company whose name being mentioned is enough to start pissing me off. What's frustrating is that their presence in YouTube is what makes them so successful even though their products aren't very good.

I'd spend 2x the money on a Rupes or GG Boss before sending any money to CG.
