so im wondering how often do u change your pad on the average car, while lets say doing a
light polish? if im reading some of the questions and and responses correct there sayin after each panel. to me that sounds a little over kill. cant u clean and keep going? Like how many of the same size and color do u have to keep on hand.

I just do 2-3 pads per car. Depending on the size of the car.

2-3 per compound
2-3 per polish
2-3 per jewel etc...

I can get away with 2 for each step for most averaged size cars. Key is to not use a lot of polish

I would think with the "quick pad cleaning method", you'd be able to get away with 2-3 pads per car, per step... no?

For light polishing I will got through 4 to 6 pads. Heavier work you looking at around 6 to 10 pads.

I get 2 pads primed, then work one for a section, blow it out with compressed air and leave it once side to cool down. Grab the second primed pad and repeat, alternating between these 2 pads until it is time to reach for 2 new ones.

This cycle continues until the car is completed.

Good question and Great answers. Thanks guys, I've been wondering this as well.
