I think everyone who has been in search of a good detailing bag will appreciate this.

I, like a lot of people on here wanted a super cool detailing bag to hold my PC as well as some smaller product bottles and pads if possible. I just dont have the $45 for the ones AG sells, which look awesome I must say, but being I was in need of something but couldn't afford what was for sale on here, I did what I usually do, improvise. :)

I decided to check out Lowes to see what kind of bags or even tool boxes they had that may work for my PC. I found a pretty nice one for $20...built quite well...decent space but nothing to go crazy over, but upon my sisters HEAVY encouragement, we went to Goodwill!

Well i've gotta tell you she was dead on...we actually found 2 bags..and the price for both was 1/2 of what the one at Lowes would have cost me...it was built as good if not better...and had more space and compartments.

I'm so happy with our finds (well really hers but it was my idea to get a couple bags) that I took a few pictures to share with you guys.

First here are the two bags, the left one is my PC bag now and the right one is a bag full of towels and a few other detailing goodies...plus their both black and match which is pretty sweet.

The towel bag actually has wheels on one side and an extendable handle, which for something as light as a towel bag isnt a must have thing, but if your hands are full and you wanna bring one more thing it could come in handy:

Heres the inside of the bag...nice area for 3 rows of towels...interior microfibers on the left, polishing ones in the middle and drying towels on the right:

Also a couple cool pouches for interior brushes/tape and some mini shop vac attachments (not seen in the picture)...and also 2 smaller pockets that wern't opened up in this pic that have things like a mini 1st aid kit (havent had to use that yet thank goodness! :buffing:) and some hose washers and other small goodies

NOWWW for my new baby, my PC bag which has a ton of storage area and holds everything i need really well :)

Here it is:

PC_Bag_1_.JPG

On the front side (the side facing you in the picture above) it has 2 zipper compartments, the front one opens up and has a seperate sleeve area in the back that worked great for some 4" pads and hand pads and smaller storage areas in the front, perfect for 'ketchup bottles' of compound/polish/wax and smaller tools:

Then the second zipper compartment behind this one works great for backing plates/brinkmann/tape etc.

Then on the back side of the bag is a 3rd zipper compartment that i put about a 1/2 dozen of my nicer polisher cloths in as well as a bottle of spray wax:

Then of course the main comparment in the middle which is only about 6-7" wide, which is perfect for my PC and 5.5" pads and even a 7" finishing pad. It holds the PC so that its not rolling around in there but its not so tight that its going to damage it, or squish my pads

Heres a better picture showing everything that fit in the middle compartment:

Like my new LC Flats and 3 Hydros :)?

Just wanted to show with a little searching and the willingness to think 'outside the bag' if you will...you can find something that will work exactly how you need it too even if you're tight on money, which i ALWAYS am lol. For $10 I got both of the bags above in like new condition at a goodwill just around the corner from me lol...so im pretty happy. Hope this helps someone out.

Like I've heard many times; if it's working for you then that's all that matters! :props:

Good score!

Nice find!! Those thrift stores are a frequent stop for me as you never know what you'll find there and it's always cheap. I keep dreaming that one day I'll find a vapor steamer or a carpet extractor for $29.99 in one of those places. Hahaha, Dream on right?!!

Yup it def. works for us :). Might go try to snag a 3rd one for just interior products...then instead of having to lug a big 40something gallon plastic tub with all our crap in it we can just pick up 3 bags and be gone!

Man if that dream comes true ID do a backflip for you lol. We didn't get THAT nice of one, but we did find the little Brissel 'Little Green' extractor that usually sells at walmart for $90. It was on sale there for $25...and on 1/2 of so we scored it for $12.50 lol. Now granted the heater is not working...but even if i can't fix it its still worth the $12 since the extractor itself works fine and the fact that its so small and portable, WAY easier to pull around than the big carpet shampooer we've been using with the upholstery attachment.
Thou they even had 2 of those there for sale, the big hoover shampooers for like $30...works good if you have a big garage to work in and can freely wheel it from one spot to another....we're sometimes in tight garages thou so....compact is much easier, not to mention the ease of loading it in and out of OUR vehicle :xyxthumbs:

Awesome!! and DAMN you have a lot of pads :D. No worries about not having enough to buff even the most difficult vehicle! These pads do clog up quickly! I've been cleaning mine after each section.:xyxthumbs:

Yeah I make a habit of cleaning on the fly after ever section pass...saves a lot of time and helps me not go thru as many pads...thats only some of my pads lol...i have about 10 more stored away but they're bigger in size and wouldnt fit, plus all the 5.5" ones you see are ones i JUST got that day from my AG order...free shipping with 10% off :) during the columbus day sale.

I want to get one more bag for interior goodies...#39 & #40...apc and apc+...Ultimate protectant...and probably hyperdressing, leather care and leather cleaner as well as our car soap :). Didnt see any other good ones at the store yesterday but i'll probably check another one sometime this week to see what other little diamonds in the rough i can find

Pads are definitely an item you can't have too much of. I'm going to catch hell for this...but I am guilty of tossing my pads in the washer and then the dryer on light heat...or even air drying. 'Been doing it for years. Or I use regular liquid soap and rinse them out with the hose.

I have DP pad cleaner and a brush, just used to a certain routine.

Great ideas guys. I was disappointed with the AG bag since it wont hold a DA easily.

Well personally I dont do the washer/dryer thing, even with my megs 2.0 pads which are suppose to be 'washer safe'...but i do like using laundry soap to clean them out with....a little goes a long way and usually they come out super clean...and i just let them air dry and then back in their baggy they go :)

Id like a pad cleaner but a Flex is 1st on my list...pad cleaner is more of a luxury item...Flex is on my 'must have' list

Ya the bag i got is just perfect...the DA fits in real nice with a 5" backing plate attached...plus all the room for pads...but it wont squish the pads or backing plate...which is a problem i had if i wasnt careful when using my previous method of storing them (a big plastic 40some gallon container lol) The PC liked to fall over and it cause an indention on one of my finishing pads...it came back into form after a while but it kinda made me 'eh' on the idea of keeping my PC in something where it can tip over onto pads etc.

Another little goodie I just grabbed at Home Depot is this little 'Bucket Bag' made by Huskey for $7. It fits over a 5 gallon bucket and has a ton of little pockets made for tools but would work perfect for brushes/mini bottle of polish etc. Which would come in handy doing certain jobs where you're using a lot of little tools and dont want to lose them. Plus it has an area made for a drill but it looks to be the perfect size to fit a spray bottle in :) ...for $7 i snagged it...i know it'll get use
