Chemical Guys Coating Second skin 6

Like I said, they are so close. A couple of tweeks in the wording and more factual information and they'd be there. Their website has been improved quite a bit.

Maybe the problem is the guy doing the videos.

Sure is a lot of hate in this thread, ya they try to over sell, a ton of companies do, but a lot of their stuff works well. But they do have a lot of confusing information in their video.

I can't wait to see what comments people come up with for CGs new line that's soon to be released which they're calling the vintage line. Yes, a new line called the vintage line of new products and reformulated products. Not sure what makes new and reformulated things vintage but the labels look nice which I'm guessing was all they based the name on, a cool look and catchy name.

I have quite a few CG products I like and I know better than to read into marketing hype. I just read the basics of what the product should do (clean windows, dress tires, clean wheels etc) then if it interests me I'll buy it and try it (since their prices are usually good...not with this coating however) and if it works it works and if not then it's not bought again.

I'll be heading down to their warehouse in the next two weeks to pick up stuff. I can try to find more out about it, at least see it in person.

It's s funny though all the hate certain companies bring out in people, we all do realize that like every company makes boastful claims, I mean what are they supposed to say, hey buy are crap its the worst and you'll hate it! No, they wont. But at the end of the day, it's all just chemicals for your car.....refocus that hate to more important things like Fracking, or Manning's trial, or anything NSA, dont get to caught up in a company hyping up their chemical, they all do it! :-)

Just throwing this out there. When a company or product gets praise left and right no one Has any issues with comments that support the claims. As soon as someone voices opinion other than good people point fingers. Yes we all have good and bad experiences with products but I think half the point of discussion forums is to voice opinions whether it be good or bad and let those opinions be available to others to see and form their own opinions.

Many...Nay!!...Most car-care products seem to be ballyhooed with as much glossed-hype as the FTC will allow.

Am I then to understand that Chemicals, and the Guys that use them in car-care formulations,
can somehow be traced to being the sole root-cause of many folks (including Detailers?)
acquiring Glossitis...and its inevitable mission of leaving behind: A sordid taste?

:help:

Thats one heck of a price tag for a year...LOTS of better choices out there for much less...

CG does a killer job at marketing though

For 1 year...a $12 bottle of DG 105 will almost get you there.

They delete all mediocre review also!

Aloha to the forum; been stalking here and there for a few weeks, BTW

Ya, that I can understand. It's their website, no reason to leave bad comments there. If people want objective reviews they should go to an unbiased site, not the manufacturer's one.

Agreed, but curating product reviews completely negates the purpose of reviews.

Companies that do this might as well remove the comments and implement a feedback form instead.

I agree somewhat. They should not allow posting directly and have a comment page their put up with good comments they receive.

like others have stated cg has some good products and some bad ones but i can say 90% of there products have been repackaged to say there new more than once. any company that deletes reviews has a site that a 12 year old can build and sells there products with a marketing and sales system way more annoying than billy mays needs go to as seen on tv only.

"now it looks nice and FRESH"
