Everytime I clean wheels...when I'm done...I'm a mess. I have brake dust splatter on my shirt, arms & legs. I stand off to the side, and still get splattered. Any suggestion to prevent? Please be nice :dblthumb2: to your fellow Autogeek!!!

Wear a Tyvek suit?

Really though - I don't get covered, but I am usually pretty nasty after I do a full detail on any particular car. If you are worried about the next customer (mobile), just carry a spare shirt and use a wet towel to give yourself a sponge bath.

I use wet towels, was wondering if this happens to others. A spare shirt is not a bad idea, thanks.

Sometimes you have to slow down to go faster.( Darrell Waltrip)

When I find myself in a hurry I end up a mess.......so I'll slow down just a little and the plan comes together very quickly and less of a mess.

I find that if I end up getting messy...it's because of the Daytona brush, or something similar. When you're pulling the brush out...it tends to splatter. A trick I've noticed that helps is to twist the brush when you're backing it out.

Obviously, depending on the type of rim...this doesn't always work. Sometimes you just have to go slower when removing the brush from the inside of the rim.
