Cleaning Pads with the Flex 3401 and the Grit Guard Universal Pad Washer

Thanks very much Mike,

You have answered all my questions and then some! There's just no substitute for experience. :dblthumb2:

If I see one on the VIP special again, I will have to pick one up. Looks slick.

Get one, you won't be sorry. I used it for the first time last weekend, absolutely amazing! I was trying out a bunch of new stuff including my new Flex 3401 and several new pad types on my "practice" car, the kid's 99 Blazer. I don't have any test panels so I use his DD to see how things go before I move on to my 02' ///M Roadster garage queen. The pad washer does everything it claims and fast!! I used a variable speed drill on fairly low speed and the PRS cleaner that came with the washer for about 20-30 seconds. Then raised it up off the grit guard plate and cranked it up to max RPM for the "spin dry" cycle, about 10 seconds. In less than a minute, I had a clean, almost new looking pad to move to the next section with. After we were all done and putting things up for the day, I cleaned out the pad washer and filled it with some warm water. I took all the pads I used and ran them through the clean water with the drill one more time just to get out any leftover cleaner, there wasn't much. I set them out to dry over night and the next day I had what looked like brand new pads. It's probably not necessary to rinse them but I wanted them as clean as possible before putting them away. This thing is worth every penny :dblthumb2:

Thanks for the tip. I am just waiting to place my next order. Already have one sitting in my cart.

I use my old pickup for a practice car. It is almost 13 years old with 115K miles on it. The paint looks like a new car it is so glossy from practicing polishing. I get "let me know when you are ready to sell it" offers frequently.

Love the M roadsters. Looked at them a couple times before buying my Mustang.

I just put my pads in washer with the MF towels.

Nothing compares to this, that's how I do my pads and MF's with no problems at all.

I don't put them in the drier, after washing in the machine I let them dry by itself. If the pad is soaked in wax/sealant etc..I just hand wash them with warm water and Dawn.:xyxthumbs:

This cleaning pad system must be good if you need a clean pad right away, but for a casual weekend 1 or 2 cars detail guys,I don't think is necessary.

I read how people are using a drill to spin clean their pads. What kind of bp do you have that allows the pad to be mounted onto the drill?

:iagree:considering the high price of this pad washer.

In case you missed it......
It's on sale right now (Cyber Busters) $99.99 instead of $134.99..........
