Clearcoat for tires !

I really don't like the super shiny look this has on the black of the tire, although I think it would be great for keeping whitewalls clean, which are really a pain to keep clean otherwise. I think that more shine on whitewalls won't be so noticeable, or bad looking, so I'll do just the whitewall or white letters and use Meg's #40 or Griot's Garage Tire Dressing on the rest.

Wow that was really bright..how many coats was on it...and you said it's possible to bring it down to different finishes right, like a satin or semi gloss etc? Maybe done in that fashion for people who dont want the 'glass' look would work out ok but still give you super long protection.

I tried it a few years ago and while it does have great durability I didnt like the look it gave the tires. When they say its like a clearcoat for tires, they literally mean it. The tires took on a candy/plasticy look and no longer looked like rubber tires anymore.
:iagree:Was the flavor for several months, but soon died off mainly because of what you said.

This product seems like it would be and awesome item to offer Rv's or rides that sit for a while . Sounds very cool.

I'm on my second bottle of it. I personally like the look of it and don't think it looks plastic at all. The key is in the prep. The tire cleaner that comes with it is very good. Tuff shine also goes a very long way so for the price what you get and the length that it last, I didn't think it was a bad deal. You don't get crazy extreme gloss unless you layer it up. I just clean my tires with soap and water and a soft bristle brush every other week and it looks like I just applied it.

I figured if you put one layer it wouldn't be as glossy.

Wow! That is a bit much for me. I think I will stick with my Optimum products. It really does look they have a clear coat paint applied and I am not sure that is a good thing

Thanks for the picture.

I had forgotten I made this post. I have Tuf Shine now and I love it and my Opti Bond sits. You can vary the amount of shine with the number of coats. More coats = more gloss. I would not say that it leaves a matte finish though even at 1 coat.

The durability is far superior to any other dressing I have used.

I currently use it now and have been for a few months. In my opinion it works as advertised, its definitely last longer then anything I have tried thus far. When the tires get dirty just use your car shampoo to clean them, do not use anything harsh ie: ARO otherwise the coating will dull or come off. Make sure your tires are CLEAN before applying to get the best results. I apply three coats to each tire it dries very quickly! and a little goes along way. It been raining off and on in So Cal the past two month and coating is still holding up well. I think most folks who use this product will be very pleased with its looks and durability. Maybe if enough interest and postive feedback come through AG could look into carrying this product. oh, since it dries so quickly there is no sling! look forward to hearing what others think.
I agree with all you stated. I hate dressing tires and have had this on the Audi for 2 months.

Adam turned me on to this stuff. I ALSO HAVE dRI sShine. Dri Shine works great on my Ford Pirellis but sucked big time on Adam;s truck tires. The key is indeed in the prep!
Both of you guys are spot on!

I use this on my Infiniti and my mothers Pontiac, it is very good and lives up to what it claims and better yet dries within minutes. No sling and I could go on and on........ But I won't :xyxthumbs:

Many years ago before Armour All , we used Clear Floor Wax on tires.
