Has anyone tried the trim coating yet? It appears to be the same type of product. I searched earlier, but didn't find anything

Nobody has tried it as far as I know.

I have the trim coating, just been to busy working around the house I have not had time to try it.

Drove through 2 downpours and hit the touch-free today and the car was so dirty it didn't do a great job but this I can tell you, the tires look great! I will do a GD rinseless tomorrow and more complete wheel cleaning and post pics tomorrow!

Works as advertised....:dblthumb2:

Coating mine as soon as I bought my new car which was on 4/14/14 , yesterday I did a two bucket wash, I only used car soap on the tires and to my surprise they still look dark black.

I figure I'll get another few washes which is more than I expected, I still have plenty left over to coat them again, a little goes far.

Its been raining for a good portion of the week and the tire coating got a real test, actually did my wife's Mazda 6 last weekend as well. I just did a rinseless wash on both and can report back that the tire coating looks great! Sure its only a week but its been through the rain a couple days and in my cars case a touch-free wash as well. All you do is wipe the tire dry after doing a rinseless wash or regular carwash and that's it!

Yeah it does. I got 8 weeks out of it on 2 coats.

I coated my buddy Hectour's tires with the TW tire coating today, 2x's and later on we drove through a massive storm, so the test is on w/ another convert!

Just coated my tires this weekend with TW... looks a bit grey.
Anyone else?

Just thought I would post some pics of this... greyness if you will.
Please don't mind the lipstick red calipers.... long story in itself.

They look good to me and nothing wrong with the red calipers, better than rust and WAAAAY better than those faux covers that make it look like you've got a BBK!

Yes, it's not bad but the tires were not exactly what I was expecting. Its more of a clean look but in my mind, I thought i would get that wet look.

As for the calipers, lol
I was looking for that tomato red but got lipstick red instead. When the paint was wet, it looked great but as it dried.... eh... I can only blame myself as in hind sight, I am thinking I didn't clean the calipers well enough before painting.

How many coats did you apply? I applied 3x's on my own car and liked the look myself but then again there's some that like the natrual look, some like how the TW tire coating makes them look while others like them to look soaking wet. If you added 2x's coating I'd try another 3 coats, with proper drying time inbetween and see what that nets you.

Although not a tire coating the Pinnacle Black Diamond tire gel will give your tires a great look, apply 2 coats and you should be all set, although some tires need 3 coats to net that "wet look". This is my favorite tire gel on the market, period!

Oh... i dont know... probably too much... more than 6 coats lol

I have Meg's Endurance and Hyper Dressing and these make your tires look wet. I've been meaning to try Carpro Perl but after reading the fantastic reviews on the TW coating, I thought I give it a shot.

Not going to give on this yet because the nice thing about the TW coating is, nothing hardly sticks and it's a breeze to clean the tires.

When I get some time, I am going scrub the coating off and try to start from point 1 again. I am thinking maybe the tires were not completely clean the first time or maybe it had some TW tire cleaner residue.

The tires have to be CLEAN when you start off and it doesn't seem to be as "finicky" as Tuff Stuff as far as how many times they need to be cleaned.

If you go back a couple posts you'll see what my tires looked like with 3 coats on there, all given atleast 10 mins of dry time inbetween. Also have pics of my wife's Mazda 6 with 3 coats on as well. I cleaned the tire w/ Purple Power sprayed out of a foaming sprayer, then wiped down and then I used the tire cleaner that came with the kit, sprayed with rinseless pre-soak and then wiped down again, the tire looked like a brand new tire once it dried, just to give you and idea.

I found the provided cleaner to be ok. I ended up using D143 to clean the tires wich worked much better.

My coating is coming up on 3 weeks and it looks great, nice sheen still!

Did my tires again after 12 weeks. Cleaned and applied 5 coats. Passenger side coating is all cracked. It was exposed to the sun when I put on the last two coats. Oh well, easy to fix.
