Coated my tires today and WOW,

Is this the first report of cracking?

Believe it is. Understand that this is my error, no fault of the coating.

What do you think you did wrong?

My tires are coming up on 1 month and they still have a nice sheen to them. I will say that I did have a nice base laid down of my other tire dressings (Pinnacle Black Onyx & DP tire gel) so I'm sure I wasn't able to get the full effect of TW tire coating.

Last two coats on those tires were put on while the tire was quite warm from sunlight.Other side was OK.

But the 1st couple coats were laid down in better conditions, right? I laid down the 3 coats on my wife's ride when it was sunny and warm, so not sure its a real issue but then again not sure what it says in the directions off hand.

First 3 coats were done sundown the night before. I also may have applied it to heavy the last coat knowing it could dry out before evenly applied. I will say that it applies quick even on my 20s. I love this stuff.

The consistency of the TW tire coating makes application very easy for sure! I'm looking forward to my next application but really wanna clean the tire real good to see how it goes.

I tried the same thing to clean my tires all a lot better and start over and I couldn't get the coat off like I thought I could lol I even sprayed goo gone power gel on it and it didn't take it off. I didn't go all out with everything but the kitchen sink or brushes on a DA but it really seemed to hold up to normal tire cleaning routines.

Here's my tire at the 4 week mark! We've gotten lots of rain in the past weeks, driven in it too and countless rinseless washes and wheel cleanings where I took the wheel cleaner on my wool feather duster and rubbed it on the tires so they'd be clean, amazing product! Put this in a bottle with some goofy name, wild graphics and triple the price and it would sell like hotcakes (I actually like French toast myself, LOL)

Here you go:

I stand corrected, this is from June 12th, 3x's TW tire coating:

....and this is from today!

Like I said, lots of rain lately, numerous rinseless washes, a couple touch-free washes and when cleaning the barrels of the wheels, I took my wool feather duster used to clean those barrels and total wheel I'd wipe the sidewall down to just give them a cleaning. I would also like to say that the tire was never stripped down completely, so keep this in mind as well if you want an accurate description of the endurance of the product. That said, I did do a complete, strip down on my buddy Hectour's new Mazda 3 tires and then treated them to 2x's TW tire coating, so that might be an even better description.

What do you guys think? Is it comparable to others results?

Yours have been put through more rain than when I had it on mine (California drought). It seems to be holding up well. Keep us updated on how long it lasts considering you didn't do a full strip of a previous dressing. So you may not see a true telling of durability.

I fully stripped mine before applying TW. Mine we were washed with Meguiar's D111 shampoo plus either once a week or 1 every 2 weeks with a Mothers wheel brush to remove any dirt build up. This got me 8 weeks. The only thing that mine went through was battling the hot sun and UV.

I really wish I had taken a pic of my buddy Hectour's tires when I did them, that was 2 weeks ago so you guys will have to take my word for it that they were stripped down to bare rubber, trust me, they were. I was just over there 2 days ago and I couldn't believe how good they looked.

My wife has been using her p/s tires as curb feelers so I had to re-apply the coating to the p/s side today, 2x's and did 1 coat on the d/s to even things out. Her car was stripped down too when I did them the 1st time, the re-application to the d/s was unneeded but I did it anyways, here's her car again:

Now these were originally done on June 14th and re-done w/ 2x
's on the p/s and 1 time on the d/s today, the 4th of July, so let's see if she can stay off the damn curb:nomore:

Used the wipe on Turtle wax tire coating on friday on my GTO. To be honest I really wasn't impressed. I followed all the directions and stripped the tires with the supplied cleaner. I did nice thin coats about 10-15 min apart. I definitely did not get the shine that some of you are and I did 5 coats! LOL

Now granted I have really low profile tires so I am wondering if that has something to do with it. But I didn't get the shine I would normally get from a wipe on gel dressing. It did leave the tire with a decent finish but nothing like the above posters.

I will try to snap one. To be honest it did rain this past weekend so I am sure it took some of the shine out of them.

Sorry about your experience but no, the low profile tires have nothing to do with it, I'm thinking its the rubber, its gotta be the problem. I've been told some rubber is more pores than others, so I'm going with that.

I would like to see if the rain "took away" what level of shine you had, I'm betting it didn't. Looking forward to seeing the pics!

Here you go. This is in my garage with the flash on my camera. It is still there and looks OK but not great. I think you are right about the rubber.

Yeah that doesn't look good. Give it another shot but this time try another tire cleaner. I found the provided cleaner to be ok. I ended up cleaning each tire 2-3 times with Meguiar's D143 at 3:1 which worked much better.

Are those Continental tires?
