Coated my tires today and WOW,

I just recently started using Adam's VRT on my tires. I love how it darkens them up, but doesn't make them look too wet. I just wanted to add some darkness to them. The VRT works well on tires and other black trim. It also doesn't leave a greasy feeling.

That's cool Mills but this is a test thread for the TW tire coat and how its been holding up. We've been able to get away with talking about TW on this forum w/o it being a problem, so adding Adam's, another brand not offered here, isn't going to help, I hope you understand, thank you.

Applied 3 coats on my beater over two weeks ago and it's still holding up very well. It's also holding up well on the driveway where I spilled a little.

I agree. I don't know how this post is relevant to this thread.

I applied 3 coats of TW tire coat on my car in the begining of June. It's still there, but it's now a mat finish. The tires were always washed with just a sponge and the same bucket of soap as the rest of the car. I'll try and take a picture tonight.

I would love to see what 3x's TW looks like after 3 monthes, I've only held out for a month on my own car and its mainly just to re-new it. The real test for me will be during the winter, I'm going to let it ride then!

Looks good for a 1 coat work van what else is gonna last? Nothing every thing else would have been brown and nasty

Might be picking this up soon, I've forgotten since I read this thread last....

How many coats would, you all recommend for customers cars? I want it to last but also not eat up profit.

How many tires can you get out of one box?

What about wheels? Easy to remove from them if accidentally applied?

How does this work for plastic trim?

On the box they recommend 2 coats.
I applied 3 coats on my Buick begining of June and you can tell it's still there. The tires are matte black. No browning.
The same week-end, I applied 2 coats on my mom's Maxima and it's gone now. Lasted about 2 months I'd say.

I believe I did almost 10 cars so far and the bottle is still more than half full (did 2 coats per car, except on mine).

Be sure to have a damp rag in hand in case you accidentally touch the Wheel with the coating. Make sure you remove it before it dries though.

The applicator that comes with the kit did last for about 3 or 4 cars only. The coating will harden the foam of the applicator and it will fall appart.

I can't answer how it will work on the plastic trim. Never tried it myself.
But TW also sells a trim coating under the same EnduraShine name, so maybe you should look for it as well.

I would apply 2 coats to a customers car for sure and I'm not really sure how many coats you'll get out of a bottle but for the price, its more than enough to be worth buying for sure.

I should take this time to let people know this, the bottle the actual coating comes in can and will clog up, so a 2-4 oz squeeze bottle that we get AG samples in would work great, or go to a crafts store.

Lastly about getting it on your wheel edges, well, dampen an old mf towel and wipe it off right away before it hardens up or you'll have to use something stronger and/or some more "elbow grease".

Yeah I'm very surprised at how the work van tires look after 49 days but wouldn't you know it, it rained last evening, so we'll be waiting a couple weeks for another wash. NO OTHER tire dressing I've ever used has held up like this, period!

Here is a picture of my car from today. Applied 3 coats on June 8th.
Not much left, but you can see some coating it still there. Very matte shine.

"Not much left"...your working on 3 monthes and that's about what my van tires looked like at 3 weeks, they look awesome still!

What do the rest of you guys think about the above pic?

I think it actually looks shinier in the picture than it really is. In real it mostly looks like a clean tire.
Like I said, the tires were only cleaned with a sponge (not a brush) and the same bucket of soap than the rest of the car.

Here is another picture in full sun from this pm.

I also applied the coating to my Mustang's tires and it looked bad from the start. Maybe it is because the side of those tires is untextured. 2 coats and it did not last much more than a month on this car.

Well for almost 3 monthes they look great, maybe use some of the tire cleaner and clean them good and apply another 3 coats.

Btw I like the Buick, is it a turbo w/ the 6 spd by chance?

3 months and there is still product on there you can see. Those would be completly flat or browned with most other products. While most people say it's not a big deal to just reapply the product they choose after each wash, I agree it's not, but then you usually have some gooey mess going on after a while, unless you want to try to clean the heck out of it every wash, and I don't like to get the involved and spend that much time my self. This turtle wax product has saved a lot of time. Feel free to top every wash of you want. There are no guidelines after you get it initially applied. It's cheap enough to top off whenever if you wanted to, I have not needed to yet on my Prius, it's like the tires and this product were made for each other.

There's no doubt that some rubber takes to a product better than others, we've seen examples of this in this thread for sure.

I will either be getting designated snow tires/wheels for the upcoming season or a good set of true high perf all-seasons, either way I will be applying the TW tire coating to a fresh set of tires but will really clean them a couple times before I do apply the product, might even wait a week and wash before I do it as well.

A winter driving season will be a true test but the only issue is when I have to re-apply, IIRC its supposed to be about 60 when you do this and down in the garage its NOT that temp but I'm pretty sure the owner of the vinyl shop I frequent will let me wash my car in the winter and I know its atleast 60 in there!

My buick is only a base model 2,4 with the 6 spd... Automatic... It´s a 3 years lease.

I will reapply the tire coating next month when i rewax the car. Then in begining of november i'll have to put the winter tires on.

It's been one month and they still look great. My issue obviously still exists with the mottled appearance when up close, but take a step back and they pretty much look like they did a month ago.

Also, I love coatings. I don't even remember the last time I washed my car and look how clean it is.

So your car is coated too, which one?
