Coated my tires today and WOW,

Good to hear. Just picked up both the trim and the tire version. Might try some tests with both on the same piece of trim and the same tire 50/50 to see if there is anything different between the two.
Which tire version, aerosol or the one that comes in the big box with tire cleaner, applicator and gloves?

Sorry, both of the Jet Black Endurashine ones. Tire coat with cleaner, applicator, and gloves. Trim with applicator and gloves.

No idea what search term to use in a thread with almost 800 posts...

What's the process to prep brand new tires for coating? I have a pair of Yokohamas being installed on my summer rims Tuesday.

I scrubbed wife's seven year old Michelin summers with Meg's Non-Acid Wheel and Tire Cleaner two days ago, worked a treat. Two generous coats of TW look fantastic (verging on too-glossy-for-me).

Adam's APC, Meguiars D101, or Tuf-Shine tire cleaner all do a great job.

So basically what I'm already doing for not-new tires? I use D103, D143, Fast 505 or LATA, whichever is handy when I'm setting up.

I just put this on after buying the kit in December, I used a variety of cleaning products before cleaning with some coarse old terry cloth towels and the cleaner from the kit. honestly was surprised there was still some dark film left on the tire and decided that I had cleaned these things enough. went a head and applied two even coats about 10-15 minutes apart. looks pretty good, maybe a hint more shiny than I would normally be accustom to but figured I wanted to make sure I had an even application and two applications made sense. will see how this goes.

With new tires you can just use the provided cleaner. There should not be anything on the tire at all. Then follow up with the tire coating.

Has anyone found issues applying this product to Continental tires?

I applied two coats to the Conti's on my daughter's car and after 4~6 weeks of life on a daily driver parked outside 24/7 it appears to be totally gone.

While applying it, I noticed the product never seemed to absorb into the smooth sidewalls like it did to the Pirelli's on another of my vehicles.

4-6 weeks is about when I reapply anyways. I have it on my wifes Conti's and that's about par for the course.

Are they cometely dry lookin'? Pics?

When mine were new (contiprocontacts) the coating didn't stick to them in certain places, but now I have no issues with it.

The tires look like the product was never applied. They are grey mottled like what you would expect from undressed tires on a daily driver.

The next time the car is in my driveway, I'll provide some pics. My daughter is driving it to/from college each day and it's three weeks from finals...you get the idea.

I applied mine in December and it's just now losing luster. They are still deep black and easy to clean but it's about time for another coat or two. I found that cleaning and removing all oils is crucial for it to stick.

Desert, we've been finding out that some tires either need an extra good cleaning or more coats due to it absorbing into the tire.

Keep us posted !

Yeah, the Michelin winters I coated in early November are still black, if somewhat less "deep"-looking. True, they were not driven much, but they were outside 24/7. I'll do another coat in the fall when they go on again.

I'm wanting to use the TW endura tire coating on tires with raised white lettering, do I immediately wipe the white lettering clean with an alcohol solution once the tire coating gets on them? Thanks.

I'd say yes, no doubt about it and would love to see how that turns out

I wrapped an old low knap MF towel (glass towel) around a wood block in order to make towel flat so I would only be touching the top surface of the letters. It was a scrap piece of 2x2 about 6" long. I applied IPA to the cloth and wiped. It worked very well and did not mess up the rest of the coating.

Thanks for the awesome tip!:dblthumb2:
