Coated my tires today and WOW,

New in here. I'm also quite interest of this new product as i'll mount the new tire soon. My concern is will the coat fade away naturally after several weeks like the general tire shine product? How to re-apply? Is it needed to clean up the remaining coat left on the sidewall first. Or just re-apply the coat on top.

I curbed one of my tires backing out of a parking place:rolleyes: and it took the shine off half the tire. I washed the tire, let it dry and reapplied the coating and it looks great again. Can't even tell even though half the tire had coating and half didn't.

Like most products it just wears off, same for this coating, in fact it's about time for me to re-coat, I'll clean the tires well then apply again.
It's really easy to work with, even if you curb a tire as one said:dblthumb2:

What's the color of the coat liquid or no color (clear)? Can i put it on the white sidewall tire? I noticed some tire shine product was with color base like paint.

Will the coat liquid dried on the applicator pad before the work completed on all 4 tires?

Can the applicator pad be washed by water then re-use later? Otherwise, might need to buy some extra for spare. But i don't think they sell only the pad. Or need to find some other stuffs to replace.

For black wall tires only.
The product will not dry up on the applicator pad so no problem there, the product itself is sort of black with maybe a tint of gray.

Color of it is greyish black. I wash the applicator after using it.

If you want a long-lasting product for white-wall or white-lettered tires, Tuf Shine is a tire clear coat.

Thanks for all of your great feedbacks. So this Turtle Wax tire coat is not my choice. I just watched some Tuf Shine demo on Youtube. Seems not quite shine enough. Might need to get more informations about it.

I just bought the TW tire coating kit and applied the 1st coat almost 10 mins ago, so its time to apply the 2nd coat soon. I used the tire cleaner first and I'm sure it helped that I did a DG rinseless this morning and used Purple Power in my GG tire cleaner bottle using the foaming head and rinsing w/ left over rinseless and then drying them, so I'm pretty confident the tires are clean. I sprayed the cleaner on all 4 tires and then removed, giving the cleaner more time to do its job. IMO the tire cleaner does a real good job.

I love the applicator as it has treads in it, this way you just apply the product in the treads, thus making it easier to NOT make a mess and then your all set. A little tip I can pass along is to start at 3 O'clock and work your way down to 6 O'clock, this way if it runs your already going down, repeat backwards from 9 to 6 and by this time there's NO chance its going to run unless you dispensed too much product. I did get some on my wheel lip/edge but a simple wipe with the mf towel I used to clean the tires took care of that.

Ok, time for the 2nd coat!

Ok, almost a live feed here, LOL!

The 2nd coat went on very easy after 10 mins (recommended wait time) and they had a nice sheen after the 1st coat, so I went light on the 2nd coat for sure. I will apply the 3rd coat just after noon CST, I'll take a pic after the 3rd coat and 10 more mins of drying time for you guys.

The reviews here are a direct result as to why I decided to try this, might as well as my paint is coated, why not the tires too! The true test is going to be the days/weeks/monthes down the road, I'll be chiming in from time to time w/ pics and comments for sure.

Here's the 3rd coat, dry to the touch too! Its about 80 right now with a slight breeze so drying didn't take too long at all but I did wait the recommended 10 mins though:

Tuf Shine is relatively shiny after multiple coats, but not super wet looking. The Turtle Wax spray-on coating appears to be wet looking, but the reports of it long term are not good (it flakes and looks bad, and is difficult to remove). Meguiar's Ultimate coating apparently doesn't last very long.

If you're after the dripping wet look, you probably want a dressing and not a coating.

I would never want a spray-on coating for the tires as it came get all over everything, this is why I went with this system and NOT the spray.

So I had a touch-free wash I had to use today and since I picked up a ton of bugs yesterday and last night going home it was a good thing anyways. Anywho, I can report that after a full touch-free the tires look exactly how they did yesterday, sure its only one day but I thought I'd report to the group anyways. Not looking forward to the 3-4 days of rain next week but another test/report will follow.

3 coats should last you a long time. I had 2 coats when I had it on mine and as I stated I got 8 weeks out of it. I also have to say that this more durable and looks better than Meguiar's Ultimate Black Tire Coating.

So reading this thread for the past few days convinced me to go this kit. My question is this: How do guys do a tire in one swipe? The lower edge of my tire is not reachable unless I were to drive my car a couple feet to coat it.

I used 4 2x4s, about a foot long, one in front of each tire, and drove up on them.
Can easily get the entire sidewall.
