Coated my tires today and WOW,

BTW I coated my sideview mirrors on the work van too, why not, I had it on the applicator anyways.

Little update! This is after 9 days of everyday driving. Also driving in rain almost everyday and a couple of washes in between.

This is a customers car I coated yesterday.

I'd say your believer now!

My tire coating is at 1.5 months old and still looks pretty good. Not near as glossy as before, but still better looking than bare tires.

I'm wondering what would happen if you topped the TW tire coating after say a month with another quality product like Pinnacle Black Onyx? Hmmm?

Looking good. Keep us updated.

That's good. Results seems similar to mine.

Sounds like you are going to experimnet on the side.

I'm very tempted to try this experiment out because next to the Turtle Wax tire coating the pinnacle black onyx tire gel it is the best I've ever used!

I have taken the plunge, someone had to!

I did an ECO TOUCH waterless wash on my wife's car last night, cleaned the wheels w/ ECO TOUCH wheel cleaner and cleaned the tires with it too. So this morning I decided to add the ECO TOUCH tire dressing, did 2 coats on it and its going to sit for a while before I leave with her car this afternoon. I had to re-apply the TW tire coating on her car a couple weeks ago as she used the p/s tires as a curb feeler, LOL and its been holding up just fine, so we'll see how it goes.

I see it going like this, the "topper" in this case is going to last as long as its going to last and the "base" underneath will still be there, thus lasting longer? Stay tuned, it might last even longer, especially with this ECO TOUCH tire dressing as it uses safe products, stay tuned!

Since my last car was totaled and I got a new one, I coated the tires yesterday on it. Drove for one week to allow the dealer shine to wear off a little. Cleaned with the turtle wax cleaner 3x. Then did two coats of the coating.

Looks like all the other tire pics lol. See how well it works on Bridgestone Ecopia EP20

I guess I don't see any point in topping this stuff. It already looks good and lasts a long time. I would think adding anything is just going to make it a little harder to get a good clean bond the next time you want to apply another coat.

Also, if the stuff you are topping with doesn't last very long, why bother?

All good, legit points Hogie. That said, just wanna see how it goes. I'm doing it so noone else has to...unless you really wanted to. I'll report back to the group over the next couple days/weeks. Its supposed to rain Tue/Wed, so the 1st test will be coming soon.

I love this stuff

I love those wheel covers on the Prius, they look like the original wheels on the Hot Wheels, sans the redlines. Seems to be popular with Prius owners here lately, LOL!

I actually bought another TW tire coating kit as my bottle is getting low as I've coated a number of tires already, our cars twice now with several coats. Being a TW product that actually works I might wanna buy a couple of them as it may go out of production, you never know, look at TW rinseless wash! Like the late Ernie Harwell used to say..."THIS ONE'S LOOOONG GONE!"

***UPDATE***

I applied 1 coat of TW tire coating to my work van tires 2 weeks ago, after a carwash. This is from today, no carwash inbetween either, this stuff is amazing! My van does through dirty roads, rain, etc, a true test. just to be clear, I did wash the car today.

I was going to pick some up at the store a couple days ago but the kit is around $16. That's getting into tuf shine territory, which apparently lasts longer.
If I can find it on sale I'll pick it up.
How long are you guys getting out of it before you need to reapply?

IIRC isn't the Tuff Stuff waaay more expensive? This kit includes 8 oz of tire coating, 16 oz? of tire cleaner, gloves and special applicator. Then there's shipping costs, you just drive to your local auto parts store and pick it up whereas Tuff Stuff you have to order.

As far as durabilty goes, well, I re-applied @ 1 month because I wanted a bit more black on the tires but they were no where near being brown. If you look at my post w/ the work van tires that's after 2 wks and this van is driven 5 days a week in ALL conditions with no carwash in 2 wks, that's how they looked after going through the drive thru carwash and its just 1 coat, that's it!

Tough shine kit is 40 + shipping

The TW kit goes on sale at places for 11.99 even at retail it's less than half price, no one has done a comparison on the same car between the two

Yeah, $40 plus S/H is nowhere near what the TW tire coating kit is. I paid $16.99 for my kit (Chicagoland taxes are much higher) I've read about the Tuff Stuff and it seems to be a good enough kit but I've read many threads about the tire needing to be completely clean before applying the coating. Now I understand that for sure but there were many people that said they'd clean the tire MANY times and it still didn't work right, then there was the whole peeling aspect of it, so I just stayed away from it and stuck with my favorite tire gel which is Pinnacle Black Onyx, that was until I tried TW tire coating, I'm sold!

Right now I'm doing a test where I've applied ECO TOUCH tire dressing ontop of 2 week old TW tire coating on my wife's Mazda 6, just to see what ends up happening and I will keep the group updated. Her car is a DD and driven quite a bit and not washed as much as it should be, thus another good test for the product.

I guess the one good thing about Tuff Stuff from my understanding is that its clean whereas TW is a watery black, so you can't really use it on white lettered or whitewall tires.

So in closing $40 is NOT close to TW and for anyone on the fence, give an OTC product a try, I did and couldn't be happier! Go back a couple posts and look at my work van tires after 2 weeks of driving, after a drive thru wash and keep in mind I drive 150-200 miles a day in ALL conditions, real world test there!
