Coated my tires today and WOW,

Has anyone tried Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus and/or TUF SHINE Tire Clearcoat?

I tried McKee's Tire Coating but it started to fade away within a week with 3 coats (did a proper and exhaustive preparation with Tire Rejuvenator).

There is definitely something wrong going on. I have had no issues with the same tire coating you have. I have the DP version but it is the same. I have seen 4 months out of DP. Tuf Shine is the original tire coating. I have not used it so I can't comment on it. Ultima is a water based dressing.

Well, my initial 3 coats of TW still looks pretty good after 5 months but I just added two more during my winter prep today. Gonna be interesting to see how it holds up to a winter in a wicked salt-belt. I should add that the TW trim coat is also holding up extremely well after 5 months.

I put my snow shoes on about 3 weeks ago and I know there was a solid coat of TW tire coating still on there. After a wash or two it's still holding up, although the Blizzaks seem to soak up the product a bit more. I did a wash last weekend after 2 weeks and like I said they still looked good, didn't touch them up at all. Right now there's days of salt and muck on there and no wash in sight, been brutally cold this week and another snow call is coming tonight and into tomorrow, 4-8" predicted.😥

Over the weekend I applied a non tire coating to my winter tires. They had an older application of TW on them from last season and have already gone through 3 weeks in a row of snow and salt, got a break this weekend. I applied 2x's Griot's Garage Black Shine, let an entire day to between coats. This product made the tires glossy, not really sure how I feel about that. When I first applied it it was between matte and gloss, but as some time went by they got glossier, LOL. This is NOT a tire coating but I'm going to monitor endurance and report back. Let's not forget I applied this over a tire coating that was still doing it's thing...on winter tires...in the winter!

So, my problem is browning of the tires. I scrub my tires pretty extensively with Degreaser and Tuf shine. I repeatedly wash and scrub until all bubbles are white. I spend a pretty good amount of time doing this with a good amount of elbow grease. Despite all the cleaning there is still some browning of the tires that I can't seem to get rid of. I've been coat the vehicle's tires. Coatings never seem to last very long for me. I wonder if it is because of this or if I'm just not cleaning well enough.

Browning occurs due to chemicals within the rubber.

Pretty amazing how this tire coating lasts through the winter and it's even more amazing how the trim coating is holding up. About 8 months on the trim coat and it still looks incredible!!!!!! This is on a 2011 Edge that sits outside 24/7 in Michigan. Just ended up ordering another Tire Coat kit on Ebay since I only have a little left. Can't believe they discontinued these products!!!:(:(

How many coats got you through the winter? Any pics of how it looks right now with some info on time since last coat, just curious.

No pics but the only thing I did was repair a few spots that I curbed over the last 8 months. Just gave it it's second winter washing last week and the tires looked great but, of course, not as glossy. I'm more impressed with the trim coat cuz my trim was really starting to show it's age before I applied it. I really find it amazing that I no longer have to coat the tires and trim constantly to keep them looking good. Did I already say I'm mad that they discontinued these products?:):)

You can still find it on EBay but keep an eye out....

why is this product being discontinued? I see it on ebay for 100s of dollars :-)
anyone know if there will be a 2.0 version?

Wow, is it really going for that much?

Ha, before I even opened the thread I thought to myself, "I'd sell my half bottle for $50!"

Yea, it's begun to hit the crazy stages of limited supply & demand. Sad sad day...

I've got 5 bottles of the trim kit. 3 bottles of the tire coating. I wish it was the other way around.

If it's not a good product then it gets tossed. No reason to keep it and cluttering up space for other things to try out. This was just one of many other various manufacturers that did not make the list.

I brought this up to someone a couple weeks ago and he said it was still on their website, that can't be true (I haven't even looked there to be honest)

I have 3 bottles of it still, along with a tire coating I can't talk about as well as another one from Japan that I bought off of Ebay.....

It was still on their website last time I checked. That person was stating the facts.

Has anyone tried the trim coating on a set of tires?

For a check I did my sons bike tires with it 2 years ago. It looked the same as the tire coating.

I also wondered if it was basically the same stuff inside the trim bottle. It has the same density, smell, color etc...
