CONFUSED - Induced Holograms With A DA?!?!

BUT the point of my original post is that he did not create the holos with a cyclo so why would he be on the hook to fix them

That is if in fact what he's describing are "true" holograms induced by a rotary buffer like these,

Or just haze from the abrasives...

:)

+1 to what Mike said on the SMAT polishes. Anytime I've had M205 leave micro marring (DA haze) in the paint I'm working on, Menzerna polishes have always finished down well. :props:

Both abrasive technologies from both companies are best in class. Sometimes one type works better than the other and it primarily comes down to the paint. Tools, pads and technique will always be important and also key factors.

This is why it's important for a person to try to have a few of each in their arsenal so they can test and experiment until they dial in a process that works on the project in front of them.

On a side note, the new Meguiar's M100 really impressed me last night on the 65 Mustang. Definitely a compound to have in your arsenal if you use use rotary buffers and wool pads. Here's my buddy Robert using it to cut out sanding marks...

How did it compare to M95? :)

How did it compare to M95? :)

Better, faster cutting, excellent finishing...

Very low swirl, smooth buttery feel when buffing even with wool pad, easy wipe off, super clear, shiny results. Actually just shared my thoughts with JR and told him the same thing...

I'm going to start a thread for it but might not get to it till Monday due to a compressed work schedule today. Shouldn't be hi-jacking Anthony's thread. In the train of thought of "having a variety of products in your tool box" I mentioned it because it's fresh in my mind.

:)

Eh dont let it get to you dude. Those clowns are the kind of guys that when they have a question to ask, theyll make a new account so their ego and business dont get ridiculed. They also search behind the scenes looking for a solution using the search feauture. Kind of like that kid that tried to tell everyone on here that we are all dumb for using quick detailer as clay lube, and that water was best. Another forum member caught him on a new account asking some newbie question, yet this kid "had a business and made more than everyone on AGO". People that act like they know it all, 9/10 they dont know ****. I love people like this and I usually go after them like a hawk. For the most part AGO members are more than willing and friendly to help out :)

How do you learn if you dont ask questions? Acting like a know it all is easier than actually knowing it all.

Asphalt Rocket must be the detailer who taught that guy who details the Bentley with a dirty rag and 409. It's scum like that that really turns my stomach. I'd hate to see his customers cars if he has any since he's not willing to learn. Wonder why he bothers with forums then.

Don't let him get you down bro, scum like him just try to get a rise of those who have the passion while he doesn't.

I couldn't agree more with this. Asking is all part of learning everyone has to start somewhere and I know here at AGO this place is all about answering questions and helping out one another. :dblthumb2:

Don't even give Asphalt your time to worry about his opinion. Here is a great quote to live by...

"Everyone you will ever meet, knows something you don't" - Bill Nye

I guess this doesn't apply to Asphalt though. :poke:

Wish I could help bro, but alas Mike is the man for this one.

LoL couldnt agree with you more. I looked over at L2D, the guy is garbage to say the least.

I have meet the guy and yes he is direct and to the point, and at times harsh, but you would learn a lot from all the knowledge he has. I spent a few hours with him and learned a lot, so what I am saying before talking like you have it might be best to meet that person in person.

Thats great, pat yourself on the back buddy. B&B any updates on what the issue seems to be?

Hey, how old is this post? Has to be more then a year or two. If you have a beef with Asphalt Rocket why don't you go to L2D and pm him. He can't defend himself on this forum so why post it?:nomore:

This thread is a little over 24 hours, he can't defend himself? It's more like he is too scared to post those nasty comments on the thread itself. He is a member of this forum Asphalt Rocket so this just shows that he is in fact an active member on the forum.

I personally don't know this guy, but if he knows so much then how do you justify his words? When I was in school and in college I was encouraged to ask questions, I have that same mentality when about my chosen career. There is no way for anyone to know everything about one subject, I don't care how many years experience you have.
When you were learning from him, did you ask questions or did you act like a robot and just imitated what he did not knowing why he was doing it?

I understand what you are saying and I can respect that but people are to quick to call for help instead of trying to figure out how to solve their own problems. Yes I did ask questions but then again I am not a pro like the OP is, plus I was learning tricks of the trade. I was there with 6 other people. He holds classes for people but does not advertise. He doesn't coming off as knowing everything but his wealth of knowledge is priceless and I am sure a lot of that was figuring out different techniques out on his own. So that is where i can see his point about trying to figure it out on your own. Trust me if you meet him in person you would have a whole different opinion of him. It is just his to the point way of typing things on the forum that get people upset which I can understand also.

It does say he is active but he can not post on here, plus he has his own forum to deal with so if he could post I really doubt he would respond anyway.

I am just giving my experience of interacting with the guy, and just wanted to learn some techniques since I am not very good with power tools and he has a ton of them along with a huge wood working shop.

Dont even bother with it Pro Detail, their not worth the time. Hence why I try to move it forward. Gave me a good laugh when that kid said this thread must be 2-3 yrs old LOL!

I join forums in order to talk about car wax and car care products with other enthusiasts & exhange ideas and ask questions. We all have our own opinions and methods of doing things. Everyone was "new" at everything in one point in their life. Some unfortunately have ego's that prevent them from admitting this fact and thats ok, we need people like that everynow and then to give us a good laugh.

Well that was all taken a lot further than I thought. I was just shocked to hear such negative comments from fellow detailers. We all know how tough this profession is and I respect all those that do this for a living. Out of the past couple of years - we must have polished 1000 plus autos..... this was the first time seeing this situation - so I decide to ask other experts for there opinions and thoughts. I like tackling odd situations like this by acquiring the most knowledge about the situation. I have no "beef" with anyone as far as I know, especially because of some negative words. I don't know who this guy is and am pretty sure he is a top notch detailer, and Im sure he asked questions down his long road of detailing. This really all just shocked me - doesn't really justify any type of bad words or ill will..... and I apologize if that seems to be why I posted it.

Before posting, you better get your facts straight. Asphalt Rocket has not been on this forum for 2 years. His last post was in Jan. 2011. So where did you get the 24 hr crap. and that he is in fact an active member. It's people like you that post information that is not correct that causes problems.
This thread was made yesterday at 7:44 PM.

Despite how knowledgeable someone is, it's completely unprofessional, rude, and flat out foolish to blanket a derogatory statement on a whole generation of skilled workers, not to mention the concept of sharing information and seeking assistance from other professionals. I don't know the man, but impressions form opinions, and despite his talent and knowledge, mocking an associate with a genuine question when you are unwilling to offer advice yourself makes you look like a clown.

^^^ 100% agree.

I have been following this thread and I must say My professional job is a firefighter/emt. In my line of work if we don't ask questions continue our education and learn something new then we are no good to ourselves nor to the public that we serve. If I have an "I know everything attitude" I'm going to get myself or someone killed. That's why we train daily, and with our neighboring departments. You could say we are a band of brothers. Now the same can be said about detailing I'm starting a Mobile detailing business soon, do I know all there is about detailing? Not one bit, that is why I'm here to learn. I joined the forum in Oct 2012 I have tripled my knowledge. I have applied what I have learned and I have saved time and money. I think is great that everyone shares their ideas and technics. You can say it's like a band of brothers we are all here to learn from our mistakes and to gain knowledge.
It shocked me to see some of the Negativity, we are human we don't know all if we did them we would be sitting beside GOD.

B&B I hope you find the right direction to fix this problem on the 650, and I know you will.

If this thread is just over 24 hours old and Asphalt Rocket messaged him regarding this thread then I'd say he is active. Are you really that soft? If you look at when this thread was created it was on the 3rd... of this month... in 2013... you know... yesterday.(hence the 24hrs remark :props:)
