My wonderful wife curbed her wheel. Put a few nice deep scratches in the metal. Outside of sanding and getting the wheel painted is there any way I can fix it.
I hope that you can fix it to your liking, but if not, the dealership's pricing on factory wheels borders on the ridiculous.
If it were me, depending on your relationship with the car (i.e. how long you are planning to keep the car etc.) I would look into a refurbished wheel.
You can always keep the damaged wheel as a full size spare (if you get an additional tire).
There are a lot of places that repair this type of damage now. My wife did the same thing and we took the car by our body shop and they called someone to come out and repair the wheel. $99 and 1 day later and it looks brand new.
There's really no other way to fix it. You could just go through one of those companies that refurbish rims. They'll take your damaged one, repair it and resell it. You'll get an already refurbished rim. I know of one company near me called Keystone that does this regularly. Don't know if they're strictly local though.
