Current Favorite Soap/Shampoo

Meg's Hyperwash.

It just cleans like crazy. Period.

Optimum Car Wash is also excellent.

I agree. I definitely love it for a neglected car. But for a maintained car, I'm going to use a wash and wax soap or something more "gentle".

I like Chemical Guys Honeydew SnoFoam when I use the foam cannon. For bucket washes or the foam gun I like Meguiars Hyper Wash and Gold Class. I just started using Griots Brilliant Shine. It's great to have choices.

Agreed. Once my initial washing of all the nasty winter "crap" is done, I will mainly RW with Uber.

However, driving through a nasty rain, or during the pollen season, HW will clean just fine without touching my LSP.

Who asked you, UD?? :laughing::laughing:

But seriously, you are right about choices. I have 4-5 shampoos that I like. HW is my current favorite though.

40 years ago, my favorite was DuPont No. 7 in the silver can. I used it up until around 2001. Then I used Gold Class and now possibilities are evolutionary and endless.

Well, that woke up a memory gene.

I’m currently finishing off a gallon of Megs Hyper Wash. It’s good, but IMO Megs Shampoo Plus is much better in regards to scent, suds, and lubricity. [Hyper Wash suds are great, but they’re a bit different, D110 feels like it was slight more cleaning ability, whereas D111 feels more slick] If it wasn’t for the unwanted “conditioners” Megs Shampoo Plus would be the clear cut #1 for me.

I think I’ll try the Optimum Car Shampoo next. People seem to have great things to say about it and I want to try it.

Ahhh, I remember good ole DuPont No. 7 well. Saturday morning with dad and the family station wagon there was something about pouring a bunch of powder into a bucket of water (yup, a single bucket) and going to town with a rag! Then an old bath towel from the garage to dry it off. The good old days...

Ignorance was bliss.

Sometimes the washing was done with a sponge. Old bath towels also worked well for wax removal.

Optimum for me. Dodo Born To Be Mild is awesome but hard to get and really con only be found in 250ml bottles.

I have a bunch of soaps and used just about every one. Still always have Optimum and it’s primarily what I use on my own vehicles as a maintenance wash.

You'll like it. It's a very close second to HW for me.

Have you tried Optimum Car Wash in a Foam Gun or Foam Cannon? I'm looking for a less expensive alternative to Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo since I started using both the foam gun and cannon regularly.

No, I have not. But the suds are pretty nice with OCW. I'll bet it would work just fine.

Duragloss. Great price for a gallon, nice shine, good cleaning.

I'm also a Duragloss 902 user and like it in my foam gun.
