Current Favorite Soap/Shampoo

For my coated car:
Reset: for cleaning ability and cost per use it’s all most impossible to beat
-Honorable mention: Optimum Mwash (and I’d swear McKee’s SiO2 wash is the same stuff in a different bottle)
-I’ve also been messing around with CarPro Descale and it seems like a nice quarterly wash for coated vehicles

For the uncoated:
Meguires Hyperwash
Duragloss 903

I haven’t tried yet but have heard good things about 3D pink

What was the damage from?

We think it was a cleaning agent someone used to clean the wheels. The only one I use is Optimum Power Clean @ 3:1, or 5:1.

I didn't touch that car, so I have no way of knowing. The guy who performed the wash on it doesn't like to discuss his screw ups.

Carpro Reset.

I never knew an automotive shampoo could be so refined. It also foamed up in the cannon beautifully, with very little product needed. We use Megs Hyper Wash now, because we wash several cars daily, but Reset is a lot better of a product for me. I'm going to set myself up with a cannon for the house just so I can use Reset on cars that are going to be coated with a Carpro coating.

I actually seen a great tip from Kelly Harris a few days about taking your car for a little run after you wash your wheels to air dry the brakes, one of the best tips i've seen so far this year. Maybe thats why my brakes squeak sometimes - it drives me nuts! My mechanic tells me its lack of use...because my car sits for weeks sometimes without being driven, outside.

Jim White of White Details does the same thing, drives a car around his lot and brakes hard a few times to dry the rotors

But then he comes back and pressure washes the arches again in case they picked up anything and I can't see how he doesn't get at least some water back on the rotors

I would guess he does 90% wheels off jobs so the wheels are getting ridiculously clean after the car is washed and brought back into the bay

He and Kelly Harris are mates as well

It smells great too. It was one of the first soaps i bought after i started detailing and then i bought a bunch more but circled back to reset. I was given a sample of Labocosmetica semper recently however. The Guz said he heard good things about it. Its more concentrated then reset and people say it also smells great, which i enjoy.

We saw damage to Lambo brakes to the tune of $40,000.00 I believe because one of us probably used something we weren't supposed to.

As a practice now, the owner does this to all of the exotics we do. Never had an issue before of since, but it sure shook him up!

Carbon fiber components?

Refined is a really good way of describing Reset, for me it ticks just about every box.

-It foams beautifully
-It is extremally slick
-It cleans very well
-It smells amazing
-It pours easily

Combine all of that and it means the user experience is top level stuff.

Just tried mystic bubble today. Reviews aren’t wrong, reminded me of Reset. Nice slickness, rinsed easy and good cleaning power.

Planned another 32oz of Reset to keep in my arsenal but now that I trust MB i think i’ll pass for now.

I like the smell of reset but the MB smells better… blueberry I think?

I've been thinking of trying that for a longtime. Its slightly cheaper than reset but not much.

Yessir. Over on the UK forum it rates really well. Don’t know I’d buy it at current rate as it’s more expensive than reset when it’s on sale on AutoGeek.

It's probably available in Canada but those shipping rates are killer right now I heard!

Don't save the Tac System Mystic Bubble to long. This bottle is around 3 years old now But it was quite good for 2 years or so. Don't know what has happened to it. It has not been frozen or anything strange. Will see if it's okay to use in the wheel bucket

First brand I've had spoil...I'm currently waiting on a replacement bottle of Shinee Wax because I took the plunge and ordered from Canada a few weeks ago. Opened it up and it smelled like rotten eggs.

I kept it in case they ask for it back and it's just getting worse.
