When I purchased my Cyclo there was a note in there from manfucturer specifically saying not to expect casing surface to be flawless due to process used to make it.

So I polished it out myself :D

Funny that's what I did hahahaha.

At work we have a Cyclo but I consider it weak compared to our Top Tool with a 1200 W engine. Works well with Opto pads and a good polish though.

I have seen pictures of the Top Tool...very impressive looking...some one on another site has one ...was told it is made from using a Flex Tool body and a fabricated polishing head....looked like a rugged machine..If I am not mistaken it uses dual 5 inch pads....but was quoted 1000 dollars for it....

In Sweden you pay 7200 Skr including taxes for it. You can use 130 mm pads on it and that will help saving time and money. We use 120 mm pads at work, 130 is expensive at the moment but we'll be working on it. It has the Flex 1200 W "engine" and is driven by strap so it's quiet too. Highly recommended.

wow 1200W engine...that sound like quite the machine...um..got any pictures of it? :D

So this Flex...I'm assuming you can practically do anything with it right? Or is it geared for one particular task? I've heard great things about the Flex machines...perhaps a worthy tool to look into.

Top Tool

Top Tool isn't built by Flex, it's built by a Swedish company who used to modify Cyclo's. It is a bad bad mother and I guess you can do practically anything with it. At full speed it's 6500 rpm.

:D I am in the process of acquiring one, but they aren't too easy to find.

I was just looking at that Top Tool at lj trading..

Thats a DA?

Have you tryed it with feks Menzerna line or MG 84/85?

I can contact the company that makes these babies and check it out if you want?

I have a bottle of Menzerna at home, will buy a Meguiar's home to try-probably the Speed Glaze but at work we use 3M so far.

Will check it out, though.

That looks wicked..but 6500 rpm...wow..talk about power.

Thanks for sharing the picture.

The Edge converting of the Cyclo could work wonders, or else Optipads are a great contribution

Nica, what is the Cyclo like with the Edge pads? Please tell me!

DanielSwe - The Cyclow with the 4inch Edge pads works good. It vibrates (smooth) less and I like the fact you can simply flip the pads when one side need's washing. Edge pads is a nice system, nothing wrong with it...well from my experiance that is.

Thanks man, reason I asked is because I want to get hold on those for the Cyclo at work. Thing is the Swedish distributor won't bring them in but thanks to the forum I got in touch with The Edge and hopefully we will get what we need.

I knew it would be a great system, I'm thrilled over Edge and will get the stuff sooner or later, both at home and at work.

ANyone know if the Cyclo's work with the Australian power of 240 volts or do I need a transformer?
Dave

No worries Daniel, you will be pelased with the Edge system for the Cyclo. Heck I even use the 4inch pads with my rotary once in a wile. I tend to favor Lake Country on my rotary but Edge is good too.

davet - My Cyclo is Model 5 with the following specs: 115Volts, 60hz, 1/3HP, 2.0Amps. Now the Model 5C & 5CE has the following specs: 230Volts, 50hz, 1/3HP, 1.0Amps. Since you are saying that you have 240Volts then I'm assuming you also run on 50hz so if you are interested on the Cyclo you just have to purchase the appropriate model that's all. The info I got from the manula that came with mine. Hope this helps.

We got the 220 volts version here in Sweden so you should be able to get one that works.
