Hi, so I know you can use it as a drying agent but can't seem to find any links, videos or threads about how to use it as a drying agent.

Do I need to mix it with water in a spray bottle?

Wash car, rinse car, spray the above D156 mix and dry as normal?

it's RTU so if you use it as a drying agent while the car is still wet (i prefer to use a spray wax when it's dry) it will dilute it down a little...

I use it straight out of the gallon and it works flawlessly--even in cold and hot temperatures.

Such a good product; everyone should try it once.

Thanks for the replies. The video shows how to use it after the car has been dried. So that didn't help.

So for drying agent just wash, rinse then spray D156. Water on car will dilute it and then I just wipe dry as normal? The d156 somehow aids in drying the car faster and leaves a protective layer?

Hi dbizzle22,

Check out vid below. At 7:25, imagine D156 instead of product at hand with a damp microfiber. I've been doing this for a while now with excellent result.

Drying Aid

Good reference. I alternate between D156 or M135 as a drying aid.

I have tried a number of quick detailers and quick waxes as I dry my cars and D156 works so well (in additional to its top notch use as a spray wax) that it is now my go-to. Considering it's price point in the gallon size I see myself sticking to it for many years to come. As I have learned more about Meguiar's professional line of products, I have continually been impressed with performance and price.

If you haven't tried this please do it at least once. Just use your favorite spray wax. No need arguing over what that is. It works and when you try it you'll see why people do it. If you want to drive around the block once before doing it fine but there's no need if you have a couple of towels. I like to use a 16 X 16 microfiber that I squeeze the water out of and a guzzler to go back over it. You can use the spray wax on the car or on the 16 X 16 MF. It gets those spots you may have missed as well. Don't forget to report back your experience.

D156 is in my detailing hall of fame. Its a ridiculously great product.

Ah there we go! Thanks for the video. Great help here everyone!

One last question before I order my d156. Do I avoid the windows and glass with this process? I don't want to cause any chattering etc with my wipers

I like to go over the glass to help maintain the sealant I apply to it as well. Water beads right off the windshield with zero streaks.

So you use a 16X16 to dry with the D156 and the waffle weave to clean up the streaks? I was thinking opposite. Use the waffle weave to dry with the D156 and 16X16 to clean up streaks.

I just ordered my first waffle weave, haha. Been using a larger microfiber towel but I hear the waffle weaves suck up water like a champ so I finally converted.

I have used D156 on windows without an issue. As a matter of fact it acts just like rainX

Two things that I'll ALWAYS have to use as both spray waxes, and as drying aides. Megs 156 and Duragloss Aqua Wax 951 (well in the gallon it's 952). :dblthumb2:

Both work great. But I honestly think DG951 is slicker. (And doesn't hurt that it smells like a Pina-Colada.) ;)

FWIW I've added Polycharger to both of them, and MAN does that ramp up the durability, (and slickness as well, just not as much as the durability). Neither of them *need* it, I just played around with it and found out it does indeed work. (Keep my "special mix" for our personal vehicles, or as an 'upgrade' for those that we know to tip well.) :D

And since you brought it up I'll agree that AW does feel slicker to me also.....don't get me wrong here 156 is an awsome product that I also use often I just really like AW more.

You really can't go wrong with either.

Most of my washes are rinseless, using either an Optimum or Duragloss product, but my process is the same with either a hose and soap or rinseless. After the wash, I'll use a decent mf cloth that I've hand wrung as dry as possible to absorb and spread out the remaining water on the surface. Then fog on a mist coat of your chosen spray wax. Buff with a dry mf. Depending on ambient temp, one damp mf and 1-2 dry ones is all I need to do a vehicle.

Birds of a feather and all that jazz. ;)

Tim have you ever Polycharged either of these? I'm thinking of a way to try and get you a few droppers of it. It literally takes 2 half droppers to a couple ounces of product.

Maybe a syringe? :dunno: I'm curious to see if ONE; you can tell the difference between 'charged' and 'virgin' product(s) and TWO; if you LIKE the difference! Hmmmm.... may just be placebo effect. :)

Thought I might get it on the DG coating pkg when it came. ;)

But yeah.... I seem to need it (again). ;)

I had put it in my phone last year, but that phone turned into a brick, loosing all my data. AT&T replaced the S3 I had TWICE! Then they FINALLY let me get the S4. (Although I had to use my wife's upgrade to get the darned thing.)
