Mike Phillips at Autogeek... I am sure, he will point you in the right direction... Listen only to him....

Those wheels? WOW! They look like a nightmare to try and clean. Nice job

I looooooove that car when I 1st say Back To The Future. I remember when I got much older and found out it was literally slower than a 4 cylinder Camry my mind was blown and I was saddened. GOOD job op, I'd love to have a chance to detail one, even if it's uber slow it's a sweet looking car for sure.

They were not quite that slow. There were a lot of off the shelf upgrades for the engine available also. A few owners installed an off the shelf supercharger which added close to 100 horsepower. I thought the worst part of the car was the 5 lane turning radius. Manual steering and brakes did not help either.

you can make that thing look a lot better if you contact Andrew.
You can actually make it shine

Had to bring this old post back to life...don't know all the details, but they are supposed to start making these babies again!!

There's a follow up post on their Facebook that they still have much to cover still. I used to drive by their place more often. It was always neat seeing a parking lot full of various quality.

I saw this too! Very curious to see what kind of upgrades they will have to have before hitting the road again! The 80s kid in me still loves these cars! :dblthumb2:

Pricing starts ~$100,000.00; that will take:
(as Led Zeppelin would say) "Whole Lotta Love"

My plan is to take out a loan to get one with a flux capacitor, plus, say $10,000 more. Then to go back in time, say 30 years, when the buying power for that $10,000 was a lot more, and get something with it. Then go forward, say, 60 years (30 years from now), and sell what I went back in time to get, and bring the money back to now where it should be worth way more than the $10K I started with, and pay off my car loan.

Nothing could go wrong with that, right?

By then:
Stainless-steel could even be the newest,
latest, and best-est Precious Metal...ever!!

Are they going to actually build them as a finished car or, sell them as a kit? Maybe something in between?

They build them as a finsihed kit. they also sell parts so in theory you could buy all the parts and do it yourself... They have all the original specs and stuff. No idea if they have the tooling for the custom stuff.

Not sure what you mean by "Finished Kit" A road ready production car has to meet all current safety and EPA standards to be a licensed car. A partiallky built or owner assembled car can be licensed as experimental and not have to meet requirements. The Delorean is bolted together as opposed to welded making it easy to assemble and replace body sections.

Most of the "Original" Cobras you see on the road today are a recent build kit car built in Africa and imported into the US minus an engine. The owner selects and installs an engine allowing to car to operate as an expermental vehicle.

A properly cleaned DeLorean looks like a piece of jewelry going down the road.
