First thing in the morning... clean, well-stocked and ready to go...
Had a gentleman bring in a 1987 Pontiac Fiero with the V engine in very good condition overall. The hood, deck-lid and one of the side panels had been repainted and now he wanted to learn how to polish the original paint on the surrounding panels to get them to match the clarity, gloss and shine of the new piant...
Using the Swirl Finder Light to reveal the swirls in the original paint...
Showing how to remove swirls using a DA Polisher...
Applying some Wolfgang Paint Sealant by machine...
Owner left convinced the way to work on clear coats was by machine and excited to finish the rest of the car...
BMW with lots of water spots and some light swirls, first thing we did was wipe it down and then clay the paint...
We taped off the hood for a side-by-side, before and after demonstration...
Covered the windshield wiper blades and arms to protect them from any accidental splatter...
Used a 3-step approach that included Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0 with a light cutting pad on the 6.0 Speed Setting to remove the swirls and water spots...
Demonstrated how to align and attach a foam pad to the backing plate...
Machine polished using Wolfgang Finishing Glaze with a white 5.5" Flat Polishing pad on the 5.0 Speed Setting
The results after just to simple steps are a very clear, reflective surface...
Next we applied some Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 using a black, 5.5" foam polishing pad
Going over some tips for wiping off and removing wax and paint sealants...
Demonstrated the tip on "Breaking the Sealant Open" and then wiping the dried residue off by creeping-out like shown in thisvideo...
Time to inspect the results...
Before
After
