Detailed: 1996 Chevy Corvette Convertible - Black

Very nice turnaround, I have a C4 coming in next month for a full correction. Was the CC as hard as the C6 are now? But again great turnaround!

great job!!

I agree....a vette is a vette is a vette........still rather have a 67-69 with a bigblock

Great job, I'm sure the owner was thrilled.

Thanks sir! The owner was blown away. :)

Man! that looked like the car from hell! I am sure the owner did a double take when He saw it re-conditioned!:dblthumb2:

Thanks a lot! The owner was very happy.

Thank you, bud. :xyxthumbs: You did a great job on the C4. :props:

Thank you Mark!

Great job..that car came out great..looks much much better !!!!!

Glenn

Thank you very much Glenn!

Nice job on a nice car!

Thanks!

Nice turnaround for sure.I wouldn't think it would be a single stage paint even if it was a repaint .Did any color come off the car onto your pads ??

Thanks Harleyguy. I didn't expect it to have single stage either. The black paint was transferring to the pad rather quickly with just 1 pad. My white pad completely turned black after 2-3 passes.

OH man that Vette was a mess! Your before and after shots truly show what was needed to achieve the level of perfection shown.

Some folks just don't realize that moderate care can preserve a factory finish almost indefinitely. You'd think with a sizable investment of hard earned cash some would try just a little bit harder to protect it.

Thanks for the kind words Bobby! You have a nice C5 there. How would you rate the hardness of your paint?

Thanks sir. I'm sorry but I haven't worked on a C6 yet so I can really compare. However, the door panel's CC, which seem to be the original paint job was pretty hard. I had to do 2 passes of M105 to make it presentable.

great job!!

Whats up Marc! Man you really laid that thing out...i teared up a little bit looking at the before pictures lol...when I met you you had said you were thinking about trying 105...see I told you I loved that stuff! 205 is a dream...I was actually surprised at the amount of swirls you took out with just a pass using 205...what pad did you use with the 205 when you first started?

I gotta get my hands on a flex...just seems like such an awesome machine. So did the owner try to kiss you when he saw it :-P?

Again great job, have ya been getting a lot of detailing jobs lately?

Wills....

A FLEX is a MUST! I love mine.:xyxthumbs:

NM Wills! How's it going with you? Seems like you're getting a lot of appointments :)

Yeah M105 is amazing stuff!! I just hate how fast it dries and how dusty it gets. Other than that, it works wonders.

I always use a polishing pad with 205 and light cutting pad with the 105.

Are you using the 1st gen PC? I think you need to upgrade to a flex. Much more correction power and makes detailing a lot faster. The machine will pay for itself. You will absolutely love it.

:buffing:

It'll be in the mail ;):xyxthumbs:

Cool! Wait, you dont have my address

I'm tryin to stay busy, gettin good feedback from the write ups I do on here so thats always a plus :).

Do you use the KB method to prime your pads? 105 dusted all to hell when i used it too...but ive heard good reviews on using the KB method and it helping to lower the dust some and give a much better buff cycle. Theres also a thread up on using babyoil to prime the pad...some people are against it but some for it, guess its kind of every man/woman for themself as far as if they wanna try it or not.

Yes i have the 1st gen. PC...I love the little guy to death but i want a Flex so bad! The $300+ for it just hurts thou. It is on the top of my wish list for sure...I'm gonna just try to be good and wait till i can really afford it and hopefully during the holiday season AG will be so nice they'll put it on BOGO hahaha...ok maybe not that but a nice discount would be very helpful...unless J Z06 really does get me one :props:

Nice job on the Vette, I have a C-5 to do next week that is factory paint. The plan is 105, OPT Polish 2 and then OPT finish. Flex, G110V2. Wish me luck.
