So this is my first big job of the season working on this 1963 Rolls Royce. Unfortunately the owner only throws a cover over it during the winter so it still gets pretty messy/dusty. So here are some before shots.

not much of a shine there

I dont think the car was ever polished before

Finally some shine! Used some M105/yellow then M205/white, washed, then topped with some Megs Gold Class paste wax (only thing I had at the moment...can anyone suggest anything that would look great on this pearl white car?)

Can anyone recommend a good metal polish?

Here are some interior shots of the car. Lots of leather in there...so supple, lol

Sadly in the front passenger foot area had some tough stains I couldn't get out and the passenger leather is def. a bit worn. This is only my second year cleaning it and who knows if the company did much to it before I started taking care of it. As a side note, thats real wood and in some places it looks like the varnish is coming off. Anyone know if there is like a special kind of automotive varnish or could I use any household varnish?

And yes, right hand drive! direct from England with an AUTOMATIC! V8
In case any of you were wondering this car is used only in the summer for weddings and such, and the suspension in that thing is still smoother than in my Audi...insane!

Came out great. My only suggestion would be to follow up M205 with a finer polish and pad to amp up the shine.

great job, i know that was some work, i did a 1960 and it was one of the most difficult cars to polish especially the front fenders. as for a metal polish, i like the polish that is made here in FL at a truck stop called the I-75 chrome shop. they make it and label in house, but the stuff works great, they use it to polish all the wheels and tanks that come on the big semi's. ive also heard good things about Adam's metal polish..

You can have that front seat redyed. New car dealers do it all the time.

Looks great. As for the dash, It would be impossible to perform a seamless repair on the varnish. As a hobby, I restore British cars, and when I do a wood dash, I use a marine varnish. Lots of sanding, polishing and rubbing to get that look.

I'll tell you what would look great on it---a garage.

Very nice work, very nice results. Try the Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax 2.0 Liquid if you like the Meguiar's line. It seems like the vehicle was always washed at a local machine wash or something. Overall, great car and great job.

As an amateur in wood working (30 years an amateur) I have the following advice - DON'T TOUCH THE WOOD FINISH. Use the wrong product and the finish will be trashed.

Vintage '64 - that could be one of several finishes but I would place my first guess as laquer. Don't try to cover it with varnish!!! That repair requires an expert and the proper equipment.

Regards,
GEWB
