detailing to prevent lawsuit?

My concern would be with my employer. By sending you, HE is taking responsibility, not you. Find out what he expects from you. You will be representing him. If the problems turn out to be more than can be done outside of a paint booth then find out if he wants you to only correct what you can, don't touch it, whatever. If you end up biting off more than you can chew, is your job at risk? If the customer expects 100% correction, even though the vehicle was not in that condition previously, does your employer expect you to do that too?
If he is paying you separately from your paycheck for this job, you could be liable for anything not up to the customers expectations, because at that point you are basically a contractor.

Thank you for all of your input, at this point we are trying to gather any documentation that the paint was severely neglected and oxidized upon arrival. We want to avoid making the trip at all, but may end up heading out there.

I am currently trying to get pictures of the vehicle as it sits. My biggest concern is the time crunch when there. I have a day and a half to do a 2 step correction on a black car at a customer's house with a pissed off customer watching over my shoulder.

The only other option I presented is that we have the vehicle transported back to my shop in AZ where I can complete the detail with a lot less stress and a little more time. The I we can ship the car back to Vegas once complete. The transportation cost might even be cheaper that the cost to drive there, stay in a hotel, and cost of all dining for myself the the 2 owners of the shop.

I would almost insist on a neutral facility somewhere, its Vegas, I'm sure the space exists somewhere. Working with a pissed off customer looking over your shoulder does not usually net your best work. I've been in that position before, and it, well.... sucks.

this is a Fisker, it is a luxury hybrid. my shop is one of 3 service centers in the country.

do you have photos of the damage when it arrived?

people tend to threaten to sue, so they can have stuff fixed for free.

i've experienced people place blame on a shop over something that was 99.99% impossible to have been their fault, but they just deduct/give free #### to shut them up.
