DFB's Garage

I'm starting to get addicted to rinse-less washing! This is especially so as I gain confidence in the method and the products.

The Jaguar has not been washed in months and has been sitting in storage for far too long. The car was covered in a thick layer of dust, so much so that looking out the windows, it was like there was smoke in the air. I again decided to pre-rinse the car with water.

I also gave the tyres an express scrub with some P&S Undressed. No extensive scrubbing here, just a quick spray into the brush, a quick pass with the brush and then rinsed with the hose.

Rinse-less product choice today was P&S Absolute with Paint Gloss as the drying aid. This combo was used on the paint, wheels and door jambs.

The interior got a quick wipe with InnerQD, the glass cleaned with Koch Chemie Speed Glass (really liking this stuff) and the tyres dressed with an old favorite, NV Onyx.

I'd like you to try Ech2o as a RW when your done with Absolute

In due time you’ll find th rinsing not necessary. I clean way dirtier cars than “really dusty”.

I was scared and confuse and couldn’t believe it wouldn’t mar but now I trust the science after a lot of usage.

Long as you pre treat your good to go.

Test for you on your work truck……try on one panel. No prerinse

You have Frothe correct? Use as a pretreat (spray panel let soak till becomes runny.

Rinseless with ONR or 914.

You don’t need to remove all foam in rinseless stage. Will assist drying stage.

Once rinseless done spray drying aid (try hydrate again)

That I feel is my favorite wash process on dirty cars.

So ill try to not do a pre rinse next time. Whats your thoughts on spraying down with touchless then going straight to an onr rinseless wash? Keep in mind i use touchless ina non foaming pump sprayer. The surface is nice and wet/runny just no foam.

Kwaazar's are great for fine mist but I found them to be a bit tedious for pretreating. A Tovia plant sprayer made it much more enjoyable.

Those two I mentioned are foaming waterless washes. I would think the rinseless might not remove all th surfactants. Pretty sure the other two are ph neutral/balanced and touchless isn’t.

In short I would use a product made to use without a rinse.

I like the feel of Ech20 as a rinsless but I do notice sometimes the dirt floating around and not sinking.

Try a Frothe or the Adam’s. Waterless rinsless product feels as lubricious. Using Frothe straight is nice but amp it up a notch with removing with a rinsless towel.

I’ve got the Adam’s on the way to compare.

That’s still on my list but I only need 2 pumps to spray down whole car and then feel like I wasted money on Marolex I got waiting in wings.

I have a bottle of ECH20 in stock ready to try. In actual fact, I have been using it as a wipe down on benches and the tray of my truck. I actually nearly used on the Jag this week but went with what I knew due to being time limited. I'll use it next time, I promise.

I'm still getting confident with rinse-less, in this case I simply hosed the car off with a hose, no foaming or touchless products. I also did not have the time or energy to get the pressure washer out on this occasion.

As Klasse Act says, pre-treat is absolutely the thing to do, which I also did in this case.

I have been using the Karcher WD6 P Premium vacuum for a while now and really appreciate the time it has saved me on bigger interior clean jobs.

It's also been handy for keeping the garage floors clean.

Realistically though, I don't really need the power and capability of the Karcher when dealing with my own cars. In most cases, I really just need to give the drivers mat a quick once over. Dragging out the Karcher and dealing with it's bulk and power cord can sometimes be a chore. Enter this.........

I looked at a couple of options for this role. Firstly, absolutely NO Dyson's, every single one I have used has been a dog. Classic case of a brand name being bigger and better than the products themselves.

Realistically, I was looking at both Milwaukee and Makita owing to the fact I already have their battery systems. In the end, I settled on this Milwaukee because of the flexible hose and floor attachment, making it more versatile. The hose means I can maintain reach into all areas without the bulk of the machine limiting where I can and can't go.

The unit itself is bag-less and will run up to 25 minutes with the 5.0ah battery, more than enough for what I need it to do..................and way more than the useless Dyson V8 we have indoors.

I hate vacuuming interiors, but I can't wait to try this out.

As for technique do you use multiple MF’s or sponge? I’m guessing MUlti MF?

On thing to do is roll your wrist while wiping with MF. Basically rotating your hand rotates the towel up pulling the dirty edge away from the paint.

If you don’t get what I’m saying watch Larry (ammo NYC) Frothe video. It’s the original Frothe video where he cleans his r8.

He does it with Frothe but I do it with Rinseless’ too.

Multiple towel method.........

The towel rolling method I'm practicing too.

Dam it, all this talk about rinse-less washing has me wanting me to go keep practicing.
