DFB's Garage

I try to freshen the mix up every couple of months, but it's been over 6 months. Currently it's:
Can't get you out of my head, my favourite of hers, I don't think I will ever take it off.
I'm spinning around.
and In your eyes.

I think currently the USB has about 700+ tracks, everything from Classical to Blue Grass, Classic Rock, Blues, Pop, Rock n Roll, Country & Western, there's even one of Bill Connolly playing Winchburgh Junction on his banjo. I gotta say there's not much music from the last few years that has any interest for me.

My favorite era, from the Fever and Light Years albums.

"Love at First Sight" is my favorite song from her, in fact my favorite song full stop! And "Get Outta My Way".

I mean, what's not to love, especially when she is wearing red..............

Loved the Disco era from the last couple of years too.

Sorry, off topic.

Forgot to say, I do know someone who met her, a guy I worked with in the 90s, he was in a band and they played at the same concert together, I think it was for Charles and Diana. He said she was really tiny, but very sexy.

I have these little brushes, they say Maxshine on them, but they are 100% a makeup brush. Very nice to use.

I also have the DF Curve Ball brush, but I can't bring myself to use this for tires.

What’s your plan for the curveball?

I was so excited to get that brush and I was all set to use it for tire dressing, but...............

You guys pay $29.95 for that brush.

We pay $74.95 for that brush!

The Curveball is a lovely brush, but at the better part of $80 for a brush that I was going to ruin with tire dressing suddenly didn't sound appealing. So, I have no idea what to use it for.

Boxing Day Perfection!

Thirty-seven degrees today, not ideal for detailing but nothing was going to stop me from indulging.

ReTyre was the choice today for the rubber, stripping them in preparation for another product to try on these PS4S's.

Wheels and paint cleaned with Reset today.

The brilliant OG Drying Aid used after the blow down with the Big Boi, and continuing the Carpro theme, Clarify for the glass and InnerQD for the interior wipe down.

So glad I bought this vac, ideal for this application.

As mentioned, I wanted to try something new on these tyres, Auto Finesse Satin, in this case applied with a small makeup applicator.

These brushes are brilliant for this application, soft enough to conform to the rubber, firm enough to be effective.

Great for the inner lip of the PS4S.

And good news! It moves!

For the first time in months, the XR8 moved from it's slumber, taking me out to work to do the watering.

I offered to do the Christmas and Boxing day watering this year. The family has been under pressure after the floods, combined with staff shortages due to illness and Covid, I wanted to do it for them so they could just have the days with their families. It was kinda nice having the place to myself, no staff or customers to annoy me! It also made up some of the money I lost during my Covid recovery.

One more day off and them back to work. I think you can guess which car is next.

Aud or USD? I guess still expensive either way. Looks nice and the brush Junkie in me wants to buy it but I have settled in the WorkStuff Albino White.

The ones with the rubber protection are the perfect brushes for me

$29.95 USD
$74.95 USD

I really like the look of the WorkStuff brushes but no one in Australia retails them.

Yeah I’d probably just keep on a shelf and look at it.

Pretty much what I have been doing.

It could be good at cleaning large grills or door panels.

Even hotter today, 40 deg C / 104 deg F is well above my comfort threshold. I don't wash in the garage often, but it's certainly a useful option to have on a day like this.

Tyres scrubbed with P&S Undressed, wheels washed with Adam's Car Shampoo and then topped with Gyeon Wet Coat.

Adam's Car Shampoo was also used on the paint. I love how thickly this soap foams, it smells nice and offers great slickness. I have also noticed that it's one of the better soaps when washing in direct sunlight.

The key thing to consider when washing indoors is to be careful of your angles with the pressure washer, in both rinsing and foaming.

Drying aid today was NV Boost v2. Have I mentioned how much I love this color!

Glass was attended to with Gyeon Glass, interior wiped down with ONR, engine bay wiped over with Paint Gloss. I dressed the tyres with OG Tire Dressing, this product works really well on Dunlop Sport Maxx.

Back to spec and ready to be covered up again.

I also managed to take the XR6 out for an extended drive today. I just love how that car sits on the road, they just do it so easy. It may not be a Turbo, but I love how the big 4.0 ticks away in the background, unfazed by higher speeds and tall gears.

Yes, drain and slope, plus the flooring allows water to evaporate up.
So how does the flooring do when it comes to dirt and such collecting in the grooves? Your stuff mighr not get that dirty enough to worry about that lol

I certainly pick my mark with washing in the garage. For example, I would not entertain the thought of washing this in the garage..............

In most cases, I'm just washing off dust and a few bugs. Technically, that could be dealt with a rinse-less wash, which I'm doing more and more, but I still love using soap and water.

The floor itself is pretty forgiving, I either blow it out or vacuum it once a week.

40°C Too bloody hot for me id be ither at the beach or in front of the A/C
Bugger the car

Birthday surprise! :)

My garage is not able to be climate controlled, so summer is like working in a tin can. Previously, I was hesitant to use a fan in this space due to it stirring up dust. However, with the Swisstrax allowing dust to settle down and beyond the standing surface, I feel more comfortable using a fan in the garage. When I spotted EGO were bringing out a fan that runs on their excellent battery system, I knew this was what I wanted for those summer days.

These fans can be run standing or lying down and use the EGO 56V system, with a run time up to 60 hours from a 5.0 Ah battery on the lowest setting.

The unit has six speed settings including the Turbo mode.

These also have a cooling/misting mode with water syphoned from a pickup tube that draws from a bucket. There are two settings for this, constant or intermittent. Obviously working on cars, I would need to pick my mark with that function.

I just wish I had this thing over the long weekend!

Also on the birthday list was this Milwaukee cordless stapler, along with two new Makita and Milwaukee 5.0 Ah batteries that I got on cashback sales at Total Tools.
