I also don't think that its childish to be leery of using the other products after having a bad experience, it a natural human reaction to pretty much everything in life.

I've had a bad experience with carpro water spot remover with i said to W-It can I use this on a side mirror and even sent a email to their detailer a thing they have on the website.

I went with want they said and cost me $240 for a Genuine VW side mirror, did I moan and act like a child saying I want compensation!

NO because it was on me! And I even still use carpro product's that YOU recommended Deyon.

So if you don't want to use them that's OK because it's your choice and car's.

I would only try them on a test panel from the wreckers.
 
I had two options after what happened yesterday -

1. Keep my mouth shut and pretend it didn't happen for fear of making myself look like a fool in front of my peers.

2. Own the mistake and share what happened, in turn showing that no one is perfect.

We all make mistakes, but I stood up and admitted it. I'm not chasing compensation, didn't call the supplier, or outright bashed the brand. I simply described what happened, how I fixed it the problem, then expanded on why it happened. I'm sure we have all had things go wrong when it comes to detailing, be that the products fault or the user. I've had it happen on multiple occasions.

I think it's pretty obvious that I am very particular with everything I do, so when I make a mistake, I'm even harder on myself than normal. However, I did not expect to be ridiculed in front of my peers, which I'll be honest in saying I'm quite upset about it.

Try not to let it get to you Deyon, we've all made mistakes, you owned it, and passed it on so we don't do it, but I can tell you now, someone else will still do it.

If it wasn't for you, I'd still be using Carpro Eraser incorrectly.

On a side note, I can now understand why you don't like twisted loop drying towels. I was using one of the small ones to dry the glass on the Qashqai the other day, and it felt very grabby, way too much friction. I still like them, but they definitely aren't for wiping dry, strictly for wicking or dabbing dry, I flick the big ones out over the hood or roof, and let the wicking action draw the water away, and dab away on the sides.

I love my Rag Company Double Twistress towels. Have bought 3 packs of them. Plan to buy more! My only issue with the style of towel is once a thread loosens up, you gotta cut it right then and there, as it will grab anything and everything.

Bring home the Jag try a new product only then to have to polish it
That's a lot of stress and work.

Good on you for addmitting your mistake, it shows honesty.

Maybe i could have chosen a different word than childish, but it is what it is, its already been said. Where im coming from is, that there are plenty of products that i would have never found that i liked if i would go by my inital use of a product.
Handful of big name companys.

If its my words that bother you, well they shouldnt. Im nobody special. Its a forum, things dont always come of that way you intend, like in person conversation you can read tone and body language.

In the end sucks about your experiennce and extra work needed on my favorite or your cars. Still looks great.

You are not wrong on being leary, just try not to let it hold you back. You never know if you might miss out on a new favorite. Atleast that how i try to look at it

While it matches the theme of the car, I'm over black, likewise the matte finish. The above color is gloss gunmetal. They do it in gloss silver too but it's far too bright, almost like chrome.

I really need to sell the OEM Performance Pack wheels before I commit. These are 20-inch wheels, so I need new tyres as well.......................not cheap.























These are silver ones, they are waaay too bright.

I would want Michelin PS4S again, although some have suggested I look at Continental SportContact 7. There is now the Pilot Sport S5 but they are an extra $100 over the older spec.
