Hi All,

Thanks in advance for this. This will be my first time doing a multi step paint correction and I will using a GG6 converted to a 5". While adding all the goodies to my shopping cart, I realized that there is a 5" and a 5.5" MF pads from Griot. The 5" is titled fast correcting comparing to the 5.5" MF pad that just says MF pad. Are there any differences in these? I will be using the BOSS fast correcting cream, then perfecting cream then end with a coating. I am going to use the BOSS yellow foam perfecting pads for the perfecting cream. Any suggestion on how many MF pads and yellow foam perfecting pads I should get to start with? I am thinking of 3 each. Thanks again everyone!

Get the boss microfiber pads. They will fit the 5" backing plate just fine. They work better than the other Griot's microfiber pads.

If I were you I'd skip right over the regular Griots pads and buy the 6pk. of 5.5" Boss Pads. As far as the difference between 5" and 5.5" pads, it doesn't matter.
Choose 4 cutting pads [in your case 4 microfiber Boss pads] and 2 yellow perfecting pads. [polishing foam pads]

the GG 5" mf fast cutting pad has no foam in between the microfiber and velcro, where as the GG BOSS 5.5" mf pads do (also has the center hole). i would get the BOSS mf pads if i had to choose between the two...

:whs: He pointed you in the right direction with the correct link. The Boss pads are much much better.

I am very glad I listened and upgraded my GG6 to 5.5" BOSS pads.

Hey Guys, The Microfiber Fast Cutting Pad will eventually be relabeled as BOSS Microfiber FAST Cutting Pad. For me, I use this pad extensively with Fast Correcting Cream when dealing with hard finishes. In fact, I used 6 of them on a BMW 5 Series I spent 15 hours correcting last week. The main difference is the lack of foam and the insane pad rotation that is delivered. Still conforms nice to mild body lines, operates relatively smooth and removes defects like a banchy

The BOSS Microfiber Pad main benefit is a little smoother operation and conformability. The trade-off is, slightly slower pad rotation and subsequent correction. Happy Buffing

A half inch.

Does anyone knows if the Griot's Boss pads fit the Lake Country backing plate?

What polisher did you use on the BMW 5 series?
