IE is slowwwww, so I switched to Firefox awhile back. Night and day difference between the 2, but my computer geek friend told me to try Chrome. He said Firefox is a resource hog and will slow down the computer, Chrome won't. Downloaded Chrome yesterday, and so far it's awesome!!! :dblthumb2:

I dunno, something about the word "Chrome" that was enticing.

Mark, I've tried it, it does seem faster but I miss the menu bar with the favourites tab right on top rather than go looking for it over at the side in a drop down menu. That's my only beef but I haven't used it since because of that.

I've tried chrome , different than I.e . I'm sure not a computer geek , but I was wondering if any way it affects my Internet security I have installed . if it's all compatible or not .

I've tried Chrome, wasn't too impressed. I have been a die-hard fan of Firefox for several years.

firefox fan here too... what OS do you use Mark?

If memory serves correctly, on Windows you can turn on the bookmarks bar by going to: wrench at top right > tools > always show bookmarks bar. Or something like that.

I've been using google chrome since it came out. I really like it. light weight and a fast browser. I like how minimal is it. I only use a few add ons. like undo tab.

I found IE to slow and firefox was a huge improvement over IE, but with all of the add ons for Firefox it made it slower. I never liked waiting 15-20seconds to open a browser. I hibernate my laptop now

Fixed. :xyxthumbs:

Windows 7 :dblthumb2:

Hmmm i wouldnt know. Last time i had a Windows was an HP with Vista and Firefox was pretty quick. Never compared it to Chrome. I can sure tell you one thing, i never liked IE at all... Now that i have a Mac, man firefox is retarded fast.

I love both firefox and chrome :D

This thread reminded me of this pic -

Chrome has much better security than either FF or IE. Chrome runs each tab you open in its own process and sandboxes them from each other and your computer. As far as I know Chrome has never been exploited at the yearly browser hacking competition where IE, Safari, and Firefox fall regularly. Opera is pretty good too...really fast...just slim to no extensions available.

Good post Ironman, for those that understood it. (Kinda geek speak, but I got ya.) I like Chrome, a lot!

Good you found it, but I was totally off. Since my Win7 desktop machine was down, and I was on my Mac laptop, memory partially failed.

For the rest of the folks that would like to have the bookmarks bar ("links" for IE) in Chrome:
Wrench > Bookmarks > Always show bookmarks bar

I like IE. Runs faster than FF IMO. I tried chrome but I wasn't really impressed.

I tried Chrome but ended up going back to Firefox too. Something about Chrome that I just didn't like. :dunno:

I have Chrome but I started having problems with it on some car forums I'm on so I switched to fire fox-- I hate Explorer!!

In Chrome or Firefox, do you have the two buttons in the upper, left hand corner?

The buttons that are little up and down arrows enable you to stretch or lengthen your message box when posting to the forum.

These tiny buttons...

The other button, this one,
switchmode.gif
enables you to work in code view, not just WYSIWYG view when typing a reply or creating a thread.

I'm pretty sure I've tried both Chrome and Firefox and while I like Firefox it did not offer both of the above abilities that are normal for IE

I need to stretch out my message box and I need to be able to edit code, most people don't need these options or they either don't know about them or how to use them and that's perfectly fine but I need them.

:)
