Monica, so sorry to hear. She (June) gave you years of love and enjoyment so keep that in mind and know that you did what was best for her rather than let her suffer. I know that we all wish they can live as long as us, but in reality they live short lives. You gave her the best life any pet could ever want and she knew it. Please keep an eye on your other dog(s) through this as well...

So sorry to hear this. My condolences.

Thank you all for the nice comments. I really appreciate it.
Last couple days have been tough, it’s definitely been a lot quieter in the house without our little fawn.

It always feels hollow afterwards, kid.

The ownership of pets (a.k.a. family) is the most rewarding of experiences.

The most unfortunate part is that they will undoubtedly pass away before us.

Hang tough you guys........... Thinking of you.

Sorry to hear that. Bet theirs some rabbits in heaven right now she’s givin chase to. After she’s done she’s goin to her favorite bed with all of her favorite treats in pile next to it. Sitting right next to the pile is a pic of you and the fams. She’s just fine. Loss of a love one is tuff but know grief is not what she wants for you. The pain will go away but your memories with her are forever. Celebrate her life as she’d want you too.

Update:

Our other greyhound Sidney is hanging in after loosing his buddy. We have been giving him extra attention.

Some good news: he went in for a 3 week check up/blood cell count after starting his chemo and he is almost in remission already!!!!!!!! It is working amazing on him!
He goes back in 6 weeks for another blood cell count. We will go from there with his treatment.

Go Sidney! :dblthumb2:

Yeah I think so!

Now to get the warmer weather back once and for all!
Come on spring!

We’re starting to hit spring here. Was 85 today.

Last night I got a disturbing email from our local greyhound adoption group. A new fawn who just arrived and picked up by the foster backed out her martingale and took off running.

Local neighbors to the foster were calling in sightings, and as of 8am this morning we got the news.... tired, thirsty, hungry and scared... but found and reunited with foster mom....

Hug your grey a little tighter tonight... Jax and Khaki have been getting some big hugs here.

My worst fear! So glad they caught the fawn.
Yup, my brindle has been getting lots of hugs, extra treats and attention.

We have some neighbors a few houses down that had 2 greys that they lost last year. Just talked to them the other day and sounds like they are ready for a couple more! I directed them to the adoption group we used so fingers crossed they come home with at least 2 more!

Awesome news Monica!

I agree with you that the spring can come any day now. Maybe a couple of more weeks here in Sweden before that will happens. But looking forward to some warmer weather now.
