Do you sit, crouch or use seat when correcting doors and trunks?

I use a cheep Crafstman creeper chair I got as a x-mas gift.



...and a lift. :D

I use this as well, and other than the fact that it could use a bit more padding, it's perfect!

On the Werner platform, I've found that it likes to slide when leaning over a roof. Not fun... My garage floor has stress relief cuts in it, and I found that putting a couple of L brackets in there and placing the legs against those prevents it from moving.

I saw a cool portable lift online that sits entirely underneath the vehicle, which would be perfect for detailing! Only cost about $1,500.
 
After having back surgery there is no chance of bending over to get an area down low to the ground.

So I bought a four post hoist. I bring the level of the work up to the level of my shoulders.
And I use a platform and a small ladder to reach the roof of an SUV or truck.

Now I want to get a two post asymmetrical lift for suspension work and engine swaps.
 
i do a headstand and buff
if im in the mood ill do a 1 handed hand stand and buff with the other :xyxthumbs:
 
God, i would kill for a lift like that. Sweet, Rasky! I'm an old guy too but still able to sit, then lay down to get the lowest points. I feel for you guys who are physically challenged by those lower positions. If i hit the powerball i'm buying all AG'ers older than 50 a lift!
 
Take a bucket dolly and put a bucket top on it. You can get really low without having to lay down and the wheels allow you to roll around on the floor.

I sit on this thing i got. It folds up nicely with only 1 inch thickness and can hold 300 pounds.

I have some of those foam interlocking floor "tiles" that I got from HF. I'll lay one on the ground and scoot it around the car to kneel on for the lower panels.
 
I'll sit right on the ground if it isn't damp.
 
I sit on a mechanics creeper. Nice and low but keeps me off the ground.
 
I have a little red rolling stool. Use it for cleaning too.

Had to do some paint chip repair and drove it up my set of ramps (commonly used for oil changes) for a straight on angle.

I like this idea, might have to pull it out for that. Has extra space to set things as well.
 
I use a black craftsman rolling chair that's about 10 years old. I have chronic tendinitis in my knees so even though I'm young I can't kneel for that long.
 
Get a large yoga roller...its just a big round foam cylinder. You can sit on it and when you need to move over you can just roll yourself along to new section. They are for yoga and muscle rolling. Don't get the ridged ones! Get the smooth offering (Wal-mart $12).

I also use a lift. I don't detail that much as far as polishing goes, maybe 3-4 times a year but I do a lot of mechanical work and that is the primary purpose of my lift. The detailing use is just a bonus.
