Do you use a QD/spray wax

I have been thinking this would help add some lubrication during drying. More a precaution then anything. Is there a benefit to spray a QD on the panel before drying to reduce the risk of introducing swirls?

I tired to make this a poll, but cant seem to find where to do that. If a mod could do that I would appreciate it. With options yes, no, sometimes
 
I use DG Aquawax after wash which seems to boost wax life but cant say that it has reduced the production of swirls, but then again I have a gold paint which hides them really well.
 
I go back and forth. When doing the final rinse via the "sheeting" method, I usually have no need to spray the panels with QD because I am simply blot-drying (IMO, blot-drying greatly reduces the chances of swirls). I usually use a QD once the vehicle is dry using the traditional method (spray QD, buff off).
 
its a great idea if you are doing lower dollar work. example, you line up some dealer work and they arent paying much, spray wax while you dry and bam you have combined two steps saving yourself time which also made you more money.
 
I always use a spray wax when drying a vehicle.Makes drying easier and faster plus putting a little wax on the finish is a good thing.

+1 (I use a QD sometimes Spray wax) I wouldn't dry without it if I can help it

Lately:
FK-425 or
Souveran Spray wax

Also use sometimes:
Optimum Car wax
Optimum Instant Detailer
DG Aquawax
Ultima Detail Spray
Pinnacle Crystal Mist
 
After washing I use a leaf blower to remove 95% of any water remaining on the finish surface. Adding a detail spray or spray wax at this point would be a waste of product. Then I break out the Optimum Spray Wax and go over the entire vehicle. If there's a little dust on it I'll use Adams detail spray in between.......
 
i hate to mention products other then a/g but i use adams q/d for drying.and souveran spray wax for added protection if needed.or dont have time for a full waxing ...
 
I have a couple of services that include the QD after a hand wash. Depends on the color of the vehicle as to which one I use.

I disagree a bit ..

A quick detailer might actually be better after using a leaf blower. Since most of the water is off the surface you have very little lubrication when blotting or lightly wiping. Also how will you remove any spotting, the qd'er is a huge benefit here.

Now in all fairness to you specifically, likely the use of the spray wax (Optimum) is doing that. But I didnt want someone to risk marring if they are not using some spray directly after leaf blowing the finish and removing most excess water. I have found most detail sprays and even spray waxes work well after leaf blower and indeed removes some risk of marring.
 
i flood the paint with water then while wet i mist the entire truck with a nice q/d a drying aid one. this makes drying sooo much easyer. i use a ton of q/d. its the most used stuff in my colllection...

chemical guys QD is the same as adam's but much cheaper. All of adam's stuff is chemical guys just re-labled

This is a subject best left outside forum. No exacting proof has ever been released and manufacturers suggest otherwise. Lets respect them and allow the end user to pick the product that best meets their needs.

I do the same. I pre-mist every panel with FK425 (one panel at a time) prior to drying. Works like a charm.
 
Optimum Gloss Enhancer is actually, IMHO, superior to FK425 ........ have both, but experience less streaking/shadows with the Optimum.
