DODO JUICE 30mL samples??????

I like OCW but no way will I go near a dark car with it. Way too streaky. Maybe if you use it indoors it will work ok? Aquawax is my go to for sprays.

Dodo products. I like them a lot. Yes they are expensive but a little goes a long way. I used Need for Speed, love it. Supernatural Hybrid, love it. I wasn't impressed with the Red Mist but I know some people really like it. I don't know why they call it a detailer though...doesn't have any cleaning properties.

I'm not a huge fan of Dodo Juice waxes. They look good but aside from Supernatural and the "Pro" versions (which I haven't used) I don't find them very durable. However, I do really like BTBM shampoo and Born Slippy. I would suggest Red Mist Tropical instead of regular Red Mist. It is much less problematic but I'm not really a fan of either product.

OCW is, by far, the most durable spray wax in my experience. I've had only minimal streaking issues with it but I don't own a black car either. I actually prefer Prima Hydro to both AquaWax or OCW. It is not durable (lasts a week or two) but I find it the best looking and easiest to use of the three

You guys say that the soft wax is tough to apply? Does the soft wax have to be applied by hand? I wanted to try out Light Fantastic and Orange Crush. But if they are a pain to apply I'm not sure.

There has been a lot of discussion on other forums about whether you should apply Dodo soft waxes with a pad or by hand. Which is better? Which is easier? Which gives better results? Here are some of my thoughts:

BENEFITS OF APPLYING BY HAND

- Less chance of scratching or damaging panels so long as hands are clean, nails are short and no rings are on fingers
- More contact with the bodywork; thickness and coverage of wax can be felt as well as seen
- More economical in terms of wax application; less wax wastage as difficult to overapply the wax or overload the pad
- Less chance of 'clogging' shut lines with wax
- Fashionable technique at the moment and makes your neighbours wonder what the hell you are doing

BENEFITS OF APPLYING BY FOAM APPLICATOR

- Not so tiring on hands and fingers, especially on colder days on cold light-coloured bonnets
- More even coverage
- No chance of oily fingers after application (although they can easily be cleaned or wiped and do smell nice afterwards)
- Less chance of your neighbours thinking you're nuts

Overall, I would say applying by hand on a hot day can be rewarding, but a lightly-loaded pad is all that is required for a consistent and even coverage of a Dodo Juice soft wax on a panel in all conditions. The problem with soft waxes comes with overloading them - the wax ends up in shut lines or is too thick to cure properly, so just gets wiped off at buffing. With a bit of familiarity with the wax, pad application would be the ideal technique - unless you want to freak out the neighbours, of course - but the choice is yours.

When to apply red mist

you should wait at the very least 24-48 hours before applying the red mist.
Ideally you should apply it after you have next washed your car.
The solvants in the red mist react with the fresh coat of wax so it is best to leave it
for a good while untill the wax has had pleanty of time to cure.
Hope this helps.

Orange crush

although the OC is colour charged for warm coloured cars it will work on any colour. the difference is the subtle enhanceent which can be gained from applying to a warm coloured car. having said that, the finish and the durability will be the same as all the Core Eight waxes will give the same results.

Hard vs soft

The texture is very soft with the soft waxes and semi-soft with the hard ones.

Soft is easier to apply by fingertips and spreads further.

Similar durability and finish.

The first question is do you like a hard wax or a soft wax?

This is a personal choice really. A soft Dodo Juice wax is easy to spread, can be scooped out the jar easily for applying by hand and the texture of the wax feels nice and soft when working in the hands. A hard Dodo Juice wax makes applying a thin layer easier, a thin layer makes for easier removal. The hard waxes may have a slight edge in durability.

The next question is do you want a wax for use on all colours or do you want a wax specially for the colour of your car?

The colour charging effect of the Dodo Juice waxes is very subtle, so if you really want to try one of the coloured waxes on a colour it's not for, then it will still look good. If you have many different coloured cars you want to wax, go for one of the generic waxes: Hard Candy (hard) or Rain Forest Rub (soft).

I've never used soft wax but like using hard wax so I think I should stick that route. My car is Steel Grey Metallic (lighter grey color) so I figured Hard Candy was the way to go. Not sure what my color falls under for the other waxes.

Soft wax and hard was are almost the same. I used light fantastic on my silver mustang and it looked great.
Diamond white is for light color cars
Rainforest rub, hard candy, and supernatural are for all colors. But, you can use any wax for any color

My truck is Pewter which sounds like a similar color. I use purple haze on it. It looks great.

I have one small scratch on my tailgate that the wax seams to camoflauge by turning it purple. It seams to help conceal minor imperfections until I can correct them.

Im loving all these opinions!!!! Now I can't wait to get my order in an test everything out!

I ordered a sampler pack of Blue Velvet, Diamond White, Banana Armour and Hard Candy. Loved them all. It's a little pricey for me, but once I diminish my waxes (which may take a while) I may go to them. I used Banana Armour on a Dodge Neon after proper paint prep and the water although beaded, normally ran off of the car with little to no beading. In fact, it would usually be dry when I would go to dry it, ran right off!

Good stuff, you won't be dissapointed.

Mmmm, Dodo samples good!

I have gotten 6 coats of wax, and still have some left over out of 1 oz

is dodo worth the $, I'm sure its a good-great product, but I don't know how you could find things better, cheaper, and higher quantity, however I think they have a great marketing scheme.

I have a 93 Ranger black its a one step original paint no clear of course. I love my pinnacle sovueran, and will still buy more but it looks best on dark clear coated paints. But Dodo Juice soft waxes do the trick they give the 20 year old paint the wet look of a clear coat. So yes Dodo Juice is worth it:dblthumb2::buffing:

I only use the 30ml sample jar, Banana Armour. Been using this for a while. I figure fresher wax is better. I also use the Lime Prime lite and the Tropical Mist. I use the Tropical mist after polish, next day the wax.
Very happy,last long time !
