May 24, 2015 - 12 Week Update (approximately 3 months)
Here is an update of approximately 12 weeks since TS Tire Clearcoat and DP Tire Coating were applied to the passenger side tires of this 2000 Toyota Camry with new Michelin tires.
TSTC was applied to half of each tire and DPTC was applied to the other half of each tire. Refer to
post #15 & #25 of this same thread for more details.
The tires were washed gently with car wash soap (Griot’s Garage Brilliant Finish Car Wash) and a black micro-chenille wash mitt during the 3 months about every two weeks.
This is what the tires look like after about 3 months
Front passenger tire - TSTC on the left and DPTC on the right
Same tire - at the top, TSTC on the left & DPTC on the right
Same tire - side with TSTC
Same tire - at the bottom, TSTC on the left & DPTC on the right
Same tire - side with DPTC
Rear passenger tire - TSTC on the left & DPTC on the right
Same tire - TSTC on the left & DPTC on the right
Same tire - side with TSTC
Same tire - at the bottom, TSTC on the left & DPTC on the right
Same tire - side with DPTC
Final Observations
It was hard to tell the difference between the two coatings from a distance but if you look real close I would give a very slight edge to Tuf Shine Tire Coating. You may be able to see it in some of the pictures.
You can also see that the tires still have coating though most of the original shine is gone.
Conclusion
Two more coats of the DP Tire Coating were applied on both tires
This will conclude this comparison between TSTC & DPTC. I hope it was helpful.
