Driving behind someone, what frustrates you?

When this happens. I just slow down. (Always following the law) and I just let them pass on there merry way.

Tickets are to expensive, there is so many Detailing stuff I could buy in those 10 minutes of driving. IMO

I rather worry about the big things, than the little things life.

Just what I have learned

Totally understand your point, but i was on the left lane going a steady speed and this guy would bounce from right to middle lane, when he could have simply gotten behind me and i would have moved over. I was going around 80mph myself.. All his swerving got him no where as he could have just went on the left lane and avoided everything.

Seen a driver the other day on the highway, driving an Audi TT with flashers on. I'm thinking okay... what's your deal?

Turns out their splash guard/under tray is dragging on the ground!

So, maybe it just happened. Right? I'm inclined to think not. Driver expressed no major concern or panic. Meanwhile they are passing off ramps...

Wtf?! Get off the road, before you cause an accident!

---------------------
I don't think I have a problem with "slow" drivers. It's only when they group together and end up making a clusterfuk.

We have all been there right? Get slowed down and no clear way to get around until someone decides to take an exit. But once you pass them and get into the clear, you wind up getting stuck behind another cluster.

Just the other morning on the way to work, I got behind a Toyota Avalon on the on-ramp to I-4, and there were a couple of big trucks coming along, who didn't bother to merge to the middle lane to let us on, but the driver in the Avalon damn near came to a complete stop ON the on-ramp. I was going off on the shoulder to keep from either rear-ending him/her and possibly being rear-ended. Seems like they would have sped up and forced their way on, which was probably not a good idea, either... but nearly coming to a complete stop??? First thing in the morning, all you would have heard was some F-bombs, lol.

Avalon owner= OLD PEOPLE! Remember, they've earned their right to drive, its not a privilege for them, they were "grandfathered" in, LOL!

That said, love the new Avalon!

Hey RedxRay, love that video but loved that tune even better, what is it? Also, the truck sounds awesome, what exhaust you runnin'?
Thanks man

The "Road Hog" tune is actually the "Mr Magoo" cartoon theme, the second is the cartoon "Wacky Racers" theme. You have be an old buzzard (like me) to have heard these!

The exhaust is a super secret so I can't tell. BUT the answer is in the recent "gadget" thread :secret:

Oh what the hell... lol

I remember the Wacky Racers but didn't get into Mr. Magoo too much, I'm 43:-)

Vehicles that spew obnoxious smelling exhaust fumes. For all you diesel sporting loud truck types, you suck! I'm always behind you. :-)

i had to been 8-10 yrs old.

On the last day of school people egged cars.

Well what happened: these kids egged a grey truck.

He pulled over (right away) he got off the car with an aluminum baseball bat. He beat that kid with the bat. Until the kid was just laying there.

We watched for those 30 seconds and then my grandma said "lets go inside"

I still remember that incident.

I have learned that I think differently than others.

All of the above... And that one car that thinks because he is doing the speed limit he can drive in the left lane. The English language eludes them, like "slower traffic keep right, then when you try and go around they speed up. That's when I let the Hemi do its work

That's a brutal story right there, taking capital punishment waaaay to far! I grew up in Detroit and didn't see anything like that, WOW!

People who stop at the end of an on ramp.

Now those people must work for, or be a part of the brain trust at the DOT. For some reason the idiots at the DOT have decided over the last decade to MAKE YOU STOP at the bottom of an on ramp!:wow:
Some have single lanes with a red light, others have freaking dual lanes where you have to jockey with the guy next to you to see who can get to the light first.

Now somebody tell me;

We are in the age where they want us to think a BIG engine is a 2 liter, (naturally aspirated of course) and to meet government standards they need to get 35mpg city / 85 hwy (or something close).:p

And of course now that they keep pushing to outlaw V8's they NOW want these little wind up cars to freaking MERGE INTO TRAFFIC that's running 70~80 miles an hour from a STANDING START.:hotrod2::dunno:

Adding to that.... Most of the idiots driving these days couldn't merge from 'speed' with a 600HP pro-touring car. But now, the geniuses at the DOT expect them to do it with a 70HP cracker box that has a 0 to 60 time somewhere north of what a slow quarter mile time is! :bolt:

Now THAT is an invitation to a wreck if I ever heard one!:bat:

Vegas has 3 lanes that in sequence turn green to merge on. As for power? I'll take my V8 and use it as an excuse to jaunt from 0-60.

But it is pretty rare to see merging lights at least in my experience in many different states.

There is a ramp to I95 here in Ga that even a 4 cylinder can make it to 80 by the end of it, but every time I seem to go this route there is always that driver who feels the need to do 45 all the way through and of course there is always a big rig who insist on not letting us on...last time it was a Prius in front of me

There are more than I can remember around Atlanta that have 2 lanes.

It'd be different if it were at the TOP of the ramp, but they put the darned things at the BOTTOM!

One down my way at least has a downhill run, both the ramp and I75 are down hill. But then again the speed limit is 70, which means traffic (when it's not clogged) is running 85.:awman:

Then there is the one in mid-town (coming in from Freedom Pkwy) that I have to use every month when I'm coming home from getting back injections. It's going south on I75/I85 and is 2 lanes, 2 lights, merging to one. Then you have to CROSS THREE LANES that are constantly stop, go, and wide open (plus everything in between) to get to traffic! Considering the three right lanes are getting off on MLK/Capitol or on I20 east and I20 west.
Its a massive cluster hump pretty much all day, every day. :bash:
Real IQ hogs it took to come up with that idea! NOT!:dunno:

I hate it when trying to drive on a fwy that is relatively empty using cruise control and the guy in front of you can't keep a constant speed. I then have to keep adjusting the cruise control up and down just to keep a good relative distance to the car in front sometimes even have to tap the brake to keep from closing the gap. That's when I wish my car has adaptive radar cruise control.

Of course as a detailing enthusiast I hate it when the car in front decides to spray wiper fluid when driving getting spots on the car. I'm always careful to make sure no one is behind me if I must use my wipers and fluid.

Then there are the people driving slowly from light to light that huge gaps form to the car in front of them and everyone next to you is passing you and taking over the guy right in front. But you're stuck there behind him still because the speed difference is too high between lanes to switch lanes at that point. And you're already in the left lane, and it's sometimes a fast car like a Mercedes E55 and you just don't understand why you're stuck behind a 469hp car driving slower than everyone else and everyone is passing you! Oh the frustration!

Then there are the people that brake when no one is in front of them at all, in the middle of the road, in the middle of the freeway. I sometimes see it from a distance and you don't really know what's going on except every few seconds the brake light comes on. It's like the person feels like one pedal must always be pushed so if you let go of the gas you must at least lightly press the brake. I don't understand what they're doing.

Then of course there's the time you're driving in the carpool lane on the fwy and the guy in front can't stay in the lane, goes slightly off, throws gravel and dust all in the air and you start hearing the paint getting chipped away as you go through the debris cloud.

Ever seen those cars that have chrome pieces angled just right so you get the full sun reflection as you drive? It's so bright you can't even look at the car in front and have to use your peripheral vision to drive? Not their fault really but it does make driving suck.

How about when you're driving behind someone and you both have the right of way but the guy decides to stop because they don't know the rules, making you almost rear end them. Then they proceed to let all the cars which don't have the right of way pass before they continue on.

Which reminds me of the guys who stop at the end of a nice long entrance ramp into fwy traffic after everyone almost rear ends them because we all think we're going to simply merge into traffic together. Now that the entrance ramp is used up, we have about 10 feet to merge into traffic going 65 mph and have to do it 1 by 1 with a huge backup of cars trying to enter the fwy due to the one guy who can't drive.

Which reminds me of coming to an intersection where the person who has right of way doesn't take the right of way. So you're sitting there confused what to do, then when you wait long enough you decide they aren't going to move, so you give up and decide to go first which is when they finally start moving, so you see it and stop but they stop too. sigh....learn the rules and take your right of way on the road.

Ever seen the curving fwy entrance/exits/and changeovers? It's a bit annoying when you're tracking the lane perfectly and you see the guy ahead start falling closer to the inside, crossing the line, and soon is completely out of the lane and in the inside normally undriven part of the ramp? I see this so often I wonder if there are really that many bad drivers who can't track a curve correctly.

How about the driver who straddles two lanes in front of you, sometimes signalling like they're moving towards one, sometimes not. You're frozen not knowing what to do because you don't want them to come crashing into you later because you question their driving skills, so you just stay stuck behind them until they can complete their maneuver and then you pass them quickly and get as far way from them as you can.

I'm sure we've all seen the car in front that can't stay in the lane and gets major corrections every few seconds while driving slower than the regular flow of traffic too. Of course you finally pass and notice they are texting on their phone.

It's not too annoying but sometimes amusing when you see a car in front of you aggressively switching lanes back and forth, cutting cars off all over the place, not signalling, and after a couple minutes of this he is still pretty much the car in front of you just like 5 minutes ago when you just followed the traffic in your lane.

And my absolute worst frustration, driving behind someone in the right lane who then stops at a red light where you have to turn right. But instead of being centered in their lane, they are too far to the right so you can't get by on the right dotted turn area and have to wait for the whole light cycle. Sometimes you'll be coming from behind a long string of cars to make that right and a single car is sticking to the right blocking everyone. And these people don't notice! Sometimes when I can still barely fit, I cut in an inch from their car and slowly drive by giving them my disapproving look shaking my head. Don't these drivers have any clue they are blocking traffic?

Which let me remember the other situation of trying to get into the left turn lane and the car in front of you is blocking it but has over a car length of space in front of them. If they moved forward you'd be able to get in and go, but no, they don't see you trying to squeeze by so you end up missing the left turn light and have to wait for the next cycle.

Wow, I guess there are lots of ways other drivers frustrate me on the road.
