Dual Action Carpet & Upholstery Brush

Yeah, I bought it. Many people including Mike Phillips have recommended using a DA for much more than paint correction, so I figured I would give it a try.

My dad has a 2010 TL with the light tan interior. Wisely, I got him all weather floormats when the car was new. Unwisely I got them in the same tan color as the rest of the interior. They had become brown. I had tried cleaning them before by hand with every different cleaner I had in my garage and my house, nothing worked.

I figured I would give this a try. Well, sometimes its more about the method or tools than the products, and this was the case here.

I used my PC and this brush along with MEGS D101 APC (4-1). The Megs APC foams up really thick when agitated. I tried the D101 with just a towel and it did nothing on its own. With this brush and the action of the DA, it foamed up nicely and the matts look new again. It got all the dirt built into the matts out, and ever worked to get in the grooves or channels molded into the matt. Honestly, I was a little surprised myself. On top of that, it probably took me half the time to clean these with the DA, and clean them almost to new condition, than when I tried by hand and got almost no results. My dad even said to me how did you get them clean?

I am not sure I would use this brush on leather, but for upholstry, carpet, rubber or plastic floormats etc, it should work well. It fits on a 5" backing plate perfectly.

Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures as I was more focused on the task of cleaning the matts.

Shoot, I'm pretty sure I have one of those brushes somewhere. I wonder where it is...

I bought the porters brushes for doing carpets and did the masts really welling using 303 cleaner!

All from AG

They make different bristle strengths. You WOULD NOT want to use the Carpet brush on leather or other soft upholstery. Do you have the hard or medium bristle one?

This particilar one comes in one strength only.

Medium and soft and I have a mothers carpet brush which is very tough

I love mine. I just keep forgetting I have it lol. I need to use it more.:dblthumb2:

Upholstery brushes for DA's are awesome! I have this one (Aqua Soft Carpet Brush). I broke it out for the first time a month or so ago, extracting the carpet/upholstery of our Kia Soul. For anyone that knows, the Soul has very cheap "carpeting", akin to the tightly packed cardboard/felt type "carpeting" often found in sedan trunks. In the past, it has taken me tons of time to scrub the carpeting and get all of the bits of lodged sand, grass, etc out of the material. Plus, the car has cloth, so I'd be spending more time scrubbing/extracting that... well I hooked this brush up to my GG DA, and I was off to the races.

Not only was it much less physically demanding (even though I still needed to use toothbrushes/small brushes for small spots/corners), it also took much less time to detail, and delivered significantly improved results over hand scrubbing. This brush, my mytee lite ii, and folex made the kia's 2 y.o. interior look brand new, which I was afraid was impossible due to the carpeting's nature and how it had matted down. Nope. This will be my go-to tool going forwards for extraction!!

I just got mine, haven't gotten to use it yet, hopefully it lives up to all the hype.

I have a cyclo with upholstery brushes and it does magic on carpets and rubber floor mats! I went crazy in the past scrubbing by hand. Good thing you got around to trying the brushes on a da, it'll definitely help with a whole lot of other applications.

hi all weather floor mats are design to trap dirt and grime from getting in to the carpets unfortunately there are several brands i have came across many different manufacturers and you right some get discoloration after while that is just normal on some in the other hand i dont think yo can get much done with a da with a brush attacment my recomendation is to use a good degreaser and a hand brush soak them with degreaser brush them and rinse very simple and works good

Ive been using the whole line of cyclo brushes that I use on my PC and love then, the softest one is great for really dirty leather, aqua great for carpet, and white for all weather mats and even some carpet.
