Dual Action Carpet & Upholstery Brush
Yeah, I bought it. Many people including Mike Phillips have recommended using a DA for much more than paint correction, so I figured I would give it a try.
My dad has a 2010 TL with the light tan interior. Wisely, I got him all weather floormats when the car was new. Unwisely I got them in the same tan color as the rest of the interior. They had become brown. I had tried cleaning them before by hand with every different cleaner I had in my garage and my house, nothing worked.
I figured I would give this a try. Well, sometimes its more about the method or tools than the products, and this was the case here.
I used my PC and this brush along with MEGS D101 APC (4-1). The Megs APC foams up really thick when agitated. I tried the D101 with just a towel and it did nothing on its own. With this brush and the action of the DA, it foamed up nicely and the matts look new again. It got all the dirt built into the matts out, and ever worked to get in the grooves or channels molded into the matt. Honestly, I was a little surprised myself. On top of that, it probably took me half the time to clean these with the DA, and clean them almost to new condition, than when I tried by hand and got almost no results. My dad even said to me how did you get them clean?
I am not sure I would use this brush on leather, but for upholstry, carpet, rubber or plastic floormats etc, it should work well. It fits on a 5" backing plate perfectly.
Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures as I was more focused on the task of cleaning the matts.
