I'm going to try this on my Z. Should I apply with a blue or black pad? Is it considered a durable "cleaner wax(sealant)"? What speed with the Flex 3401? I've always applied pure LSP's, never ones with cleaning ability.

DG105 is a very durable sealant, and it's easy to use (easy on/ off.)

I would go with a black pad, but either is fine. I've never applied it via Flex, because I prefer the PC for applying my waxes, my guess would be a low speed.

The cleaning ability on this sealant is very mild, nothing like Meguiar's M66 or D151.

Let us know what you thought of it are, It's a really good product and the price is nice also.

Thanks for the reply, Erik. :xyxthumbs:

I met you a couple years back when Richard detailed my 08 Black C6. How's everything going with LAPD?

105 is an awesome product Mark! 111 is awesome too but a little more difficult to remove if in a humid environment. I tried Richy's mix on a white Benz lately, awesome! 1oz. pba : 4oz. 501 to clean (green pad), followed up with 1oz. pba : 4oz. 105 by hand with mf applicator pad.

you should do a section with 501 then top with 105 and do another section with just 105. if you're going to use a machine, my vote goes to the blue pad over gray if your paint is clean. from my understanding 105 has the lightest of cleaners in it, kind of like DP poli-coat.

Richard, that's quite a process! I'm sure it looks great. :dblthumb2:

That process (polish bonding agent) was used to flash cure the products because I was working on limited time and the owner isn't one to maintain. I wanted something that would last and after several conversations with Richy and some other detailer's, that's the process I chose. If you have plenty of time for curing then follow traditional methods. I forgot, I topped the DG 105 with Collinite 845.

I dont find it to have heavy cleaners, much lighter than most AIO's. Likely the cleaner in it is minor just to help with bonding and prepping surface. Anyone feel differnet ??

I did a favor for our neighbor and used the Duragloss 105 on top of the PBA (Polishing Bonding Agent). I was impressed not only by the cost, but how easy it was to apply and remove. The car was small, so I did everything by hand. Paint was washed and cleaned. I may have to try this out for the winter months. The only change I would make is to use the Collinite 476 instead of the 845. It's my personal preference, I feel that based on last year the 476 held up better against the elements here in Michigan during the winter. Compared to other similiar items that I have used these products are really economical.

Used Duragloss 105 today. Applied it with my Flex 3401 and a blue pad. Long story short, I LOVE this stuff! Most durable sealants/waxes are hard to apply and remove, but DG 105 was very easy to apply, and extremely easy to remove! Made the metallic flake pop, too. Wow, great stuff!!! :dblthumb2:

Resurrecting an old thread here, but I had a question I was hoping to get an answer to:

What's the best way to remove 105/501 residue from foam pads?

They're great products, but whenever I use them on contaminated paint surfaces they pull up a lot of dirt and the 105 seems to "bond" the dirt to the foam, making it difficult to wash out cleanly.

Try soaking them in mineral spirits for about 15-30 minutes, work the mineral spirits into the foam then wash with Dawn or similar strong dish soap. Make sure you rinse well. It may take a couple washes with Dawn or dish soap.

Thanks! Seems like a lot of hard work, but I guess that's why DG is so durable.

I've had great sucess removing 105/601 from red pads using Dawn Power Dissolver--hard to find anymore, but most ACE HW carry it.

I was wondering if I could just soak in some neat OPC and see if that works.

I'm really not a big fan of gunky pads and I only have a few of each type, so I can't really afford to designate them as DG-only pads (plus they appear to have embedded dirt in the pores)

Also use the Power Dissolver, great stuff, can be found in wal mart in this area :xyxthumbs:

i use la totally awesome orange cleaner. soak overnight. then it still takes some work. massage/squeeze the pad to pinch out any remaining product. tough job that takes some work.

as an aside, converted all 3 of my cars to all duragloss products for the remainder of winter. 501 601 105. maintaining with 951 dgaw. wow. this stuff is amazing. i thought blackfire was impressive on my trucks black paint, but dg looks just as good or better and its even more amazing on my other cars silver paint.

When you see how hard it is to remove on pads, you get an idea of why it is so durable on the paint.
