Duragloss Process??

To be honest..501 will clean paint much better than 601...601 was made to clean off old waxes and sealants....501 will deep clean paint...it will remove oxidation thats how strong it is

I used 501 on a 2004 Ford Escape. You should have seen how much dirt it took out of the paint. I also used it on my wifes Kia Sedona 2 months ago and it still beads like crazy. The Ford also got the 105, but the Kia only got the 501.

Yes..501 is a real sleeper product..I talked to Jerry for close to a hour about 501...and he said the cleaner will clean the micro pores out of any contamination..just lifts it out..and the polymer is enhanced to counter act the cleaner...its like the cleaner works first..then flashes off..and the polymer is left...

its strange stuff but works....

Is it possible to use 105 over a Klasse AIO & Jetseal base?

If so, would 601 need to be used first?

I'm thinking of using 105 as a winter option and Jetseal & P21S wax as a summer option.

i hope the weather gets nice soon so i can give the subaru a nice full detail. the winter rain, snow, and road salt has been beaten on it but the dg 601, 105 is still beading the water off. as i posted awhile ago about how I see the pattern of how I buffed off the DG product it's still there. i've tried washing the car then used aquawax to buff it out but no luck. Feed back please
what should i do? i would like to keep using the dg products.

I didn't go back and read the entire post, but I think it has been recommended a time or two to use #501 as a cleaner/prep prior to the #105.
Use #501 and either follow with the #601 or not since I'm not convinced the #601 is necessary. Follow with the #105.
Cliff's Notes:
Apply #501, remove #501 with MF
Apply #105, remove #105 with MF
Use Aqua Wax per instructions after next and each following wash
Addendum:
4 to 6 weeks later, do the #105 again.
Every 3 to 6 months, do the #501 and #105 process.

So if using the DG 501 one would not need a 'pre-cleaner'? Is the 501 more effective than say Pinnacle pre-cleaner? Oh, and on a side not, Emile says earlier in this thread that the DG 105 "looks like ass" next to the Z-AIO. I just completed the full DG process (501, 601, 105) and I am amazed at the out come. So is it true that I will be that much more amazed if I use this Z-AIO instread??

If you use DG 501, you won't need a pre-cleaner.
It will not remove marring, but it does do a great job of cleaning the paint.
I have no idea how it compares with the Pinnacle pre-cleaner. Never used the Pinnacle product.

The only way you will know for sure what you will be amazed at is if you try it. :)

I have not used Z-AIO, but I have used Zaino in the past. Good products. Probably not as good as a lot of people seem to think they are.
Try them. They might be just what you are looking for.

Hello everyone, Im new here to the forum and a total newbie when it comes to detailing a car. I just bought an 09 Nissan Maxima in Super black and it has swirl marks in the paint. If I go through the process of using 501 then 601/105 and then 951. Do I need to also use the swirl remover, 671? Also after I was my car do I need to clay bar it before using all the duragloss products? Thanks in advance!

I would choose something from Meguiars or menzerna to remove swirls. Then mix 501 and 601 an 80/20 mix and use that and it will help the 501 to cure quickly. Then you can use 105 on top if you choose.

Thanks Sal329! I was worried this thread was dead, hah. Do you suggest to clay before putting on the duragloss products or does using the 501/601 combo eliminate the need to clay?

Still need to clay unless paint passes the baggie test

I haven't tested Duragloss Swirl Mark Remover yet but plan to. As stated, your best options for removing swirls will be either Meg's M105/M205, Menzerna PO83/106, or the Wolfgang twins TSR/FG. If you're goal is not to remove swirls but you want a clean and smooth surface, clay to remove surface contaminants then mix DG 601/501 at 1:4 ratio to clean the paint, then 601/105 at 1:4 to protect it. This will flash cure the products and you can follow instantly with another layer if you wish.
