E46 M3 in for a 1-step "plus" correction and PPF removal. The "plus" part is because I wanted to try the new CarPro Essence sample so I step up my correction step and used Essence as a finishing polish to refine the paint and amp up the gloss. :)

When I finished working on this one late last Saturday night on this car I still had to do the windows, exhaust, and a few other misc items and planned to take full car after pics when I was done. Unfortunately delivery of the car was pushed out to 4 days later and I had forgotten to take after pics with my SLR, so all I have is a few with my iPhone after I was done polishing. :(

Process:

Wash - ONR
Wheels - Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus & various brushes.
Tires - Cleaned with Megs D143 and Tuf-Shine brush. Dressed with Megs Hyper Dressing
Tar Removal - Tarminator
Paint Prep - Nanos Skin Towel and Glide as lube
Paint Correction - Groit's Fast Correct Cream on the G21 with Griot's MF BOSS pads followed by Essence on the G21 with yellow BOSS pads. Tight areas done with Rupes LHR75e
Exhaust - Optimum Metal Polish
LSP - Decided to top Essence with 22ple VS1 at the last minute.

PPF FUN! :)

NOT!

A little over an hour later...

50/50's after Fast Correct

Swirling wasn't too bad, but the paint had lots of staining and water spots

Holograms on the drivers side...

iPhone pics after polishing, car isn't finished here though

Thanks for looking,

Rasky

Man that after Essence shot is cool - it seems to actually show that the fillers really do help to bring out the shine w/o any hazing or holograms (basically what the product description implies).

The pre Essence shot is nice - but I find the post shot to really show a much cleaner starburst and appears to provide extra paint depth!!!

Excellent work!!

Yep, it really richens the paint. The after compound shot still had some light marring, which Essence should have easily refined too, not necessary just filled. I'm going to try and redo the above pics this weekend on another car, but I'll fully refine the paint before Essence this time and see if it can be captured in pics. ;)

Great work Chad. Awesome results for a 1+ step, Essence continues to look very promising.

What was your process with Essence to keep it less than a true two step and still breakdown the abrasives?

The e46 M will never go out of style.

Looks great, Chad!

Thanks Zach! :)

Perhaps I should have worded it differently. The vehicle was only in for a 1-step and traditional wax/sealant. Since this is a very good client I basically ended up doing a 2-step with the intention of Essence being my LSP. I believe this is the 7th or 8th car I've done for this client and he has 2 more on the books. Don't mind the extra work for owners like this. ;)

You really brought this car back to life! I'm surprised the paint was so badly stained.

I think out of all their cars this is the one that gets left outside 24/7 and is subject to the sprinklers and well water. She's tucked away nice and safe for the winter now though. ;)

Great work Rasky, as usual! what is the ratio you use on the hyper dressing for tires? and if you use it on your car how long does it last on your tires? thanks

Wow! Just wow. I'm definitely going to have to give that Essence a try.

Great work Chad. I'm excited to get my Bottle of Essence in.

More good work with the G21!
Can you elaborate on the Essence product? I must have missed what this is. A quick google/AG search didn't yield any good results.

Thanks guys! :)

Thanks! I have it cut at 3:1 and as long as it doesn't rain it's good for a week or two. I also find gloss and durability seems to vary with tire make. My opinion on tire dressings is different then most too. I figure if it rains the car is now dirty so why does it matter if my tires still look dressed or not? ;)

Beautiful work Chad. That M looks proper now.

How difficult is it to clean the pads after being used with Essence?

I haven't tried cleaning one recently but don't recall having an issue on the first car I did I while back. You do want to soak them or wash them right away apparently. I always try and throw my pads in a bucket with water and APC as soon as I'm done anyway so no change for me. ;)

From the carPro site ;)

CarPro is turning the wheels of innovation once again!! CarPro Essence is a unique blend of nano-tech Quartz, high gloss durable resins, and fine abrasives that are blended together at a microscopic level to form something truly ground breaking! CarPro Essence leaves an amazing high gloss finish with semi-permanent fillers and protective capabilities all built in!
Paired with a microfiber cutting pad Essence is capable of unexpected cutting power, while a CarPro gloss pad armed with Essence provides gloss we could only dream of until now! But this is not simply a polish…
In less than the time you take to polish a car with conventional products, CarPro Essence is capable of removing swirls, building your clear coat thicker, leaving higher gloss, and laying down a semi-permanent coat of protection! Oh… and it wipes off like a dream!
Incredibly Essence also leaves a perfectly smooth, deep, reflective, primed layer to build on with CQuartz or Reload! The primer attribute in Essence makes application of CQuartz easier than ever and bonds together seamlessly, forming a shell of Extreme Gloss and protection!

My main intent for his product is to use it as a Primer for Finest after first correcting and finishing the paint. This product boosts gloss and keeps me from having to wipe the car down with Eraser/IPA prior to coating. Here is a quick cell phone pic from a car I just finished where Essence was used as a Primer followed by Finest. :xyxthumbs:

Congrats on your work, it's always a pleasure to follow.

Thank you for sharing including your thoughts and insights regarding ESSENCE, will be useful in near future: I just can't wait to try this product out.

Best Wishes, from Brazil.
