Hey all! I have to say I finally started offering coatings last fall and fell way behind on giving credit to just how great coatings are. This particular E90 M3 had around 50K miles and here in the bluegrass a few weeks ago we had a bit of a nice stretch of weather before we got a bit of snow. Needless to say this is one car where the pictures speaks volumes for the product. The car had little to no oxidization but it did however have a number of swirls so a correction for the entire care was needed before the coating took place. Flash was extremely fast on this car and ease of application was fantastic. Needless to say if anyone has been on the fence for trying Blackfire Coatings, I suggest giving it a try.

The reflection is incredible! I read that some folks who have applied BF coatings have experienced some streaking which disappeared after the first wash. From the looks of it...no streaking whatsoever.

That's one beautiful crystal clear E90 keep up the outstanding work

Beautiful gloss and shine! Great job with the Blackfire.

The shine looks great! A beautiful car.

When you applied the coating, did you find it to be sticky? How heavily did you apply the coating?

Out of 8 cars I have done I have had streaking on two. This is done indoors in a controlled environment and on the two I had streaks it was only on the hood, but as mentioned after the first wash it was gone. With this car there was not streaking, but I have adopted going with a smaller surface area.

Incredibly sticky. I have been using 10 areas as I apply. I go with a thin coat but I would say "extremely" thin. The first time I tried this coating I went a little heavy in spots and regretted it once it came time to leveling as this product is super sticky especially when it is thick and the garage is extremely warm. I am still playing with temperatures but overall I say the process has not been terrible in terms of application.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I cannot stress enough how much I enjoy this product and have to say the E90 owner was at a loss of words. I had a client stop by with a black truck as he was picking up his M3 and he looked at me and said "to heck with costs, make my truck look like that car".

my friend applied BF coat 2 weeks ago and had tons of streaks. After 1 wash, still plenty streaks left.

Like you said I think he applied too much and was extremely sticky.

I have an unused bottle of Opti Coat, debating if I should use opti or BF on my dad's car.

BTW, anyone know how long will the bottle of BF last once it's opene?

Blackfire has a very, very short shelf life, once the seal is broken. Here is another thread discussing BF coating: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/96914-blackfire-crystal-coat-problems.html

I actually had a bottle go three months once opened. I was trying to test shelf life then ended up using it.
